How to Build the Black Cat Cottage in Fallout 76

The Black Cat Bundle is a Halloween-limited bundle in the Fallout 76 Atomic Shop, built around a black cat theme to dress up a C.A.M.P. What is called the "black cat cottage" is the mechanical black cat in this bundle that can be placed at a camp. The bundle normally costs 1,300 Atoms and is discounted 30% to 910 Atoms for a limited time in October 2026. The sections below go through the use of each of the five items, along with how to build the centerpiece, the Animatronic Black Cat.

Introduction to the Black Cat Bundle

The Black Cat Bundle contains five items in total. Four are ambient decorations; the real draw is the Animatronic Black Cat. The full list:

Animatronic Black Cat: an interactive, animated black cat, placed as floor decor

Skull Candles: a set of three skull-shaped candles

Witch's Cauldron Cooking Station: a cooking station styled as a witch's cauldron

Halloween Sound Effects Box: a box that plays Halloween sound effects

Laughing Witch Player Icon: a player icon

How to Build an Animatronic Black Cat

After purchase, the Animatronic Black Cat does not enter the inventory on its own; it must be crafted from the build menu at a C.A.M.P. or Workshop. Enter build mode, find the item under Floor Decor, and spend 2 Cloth to place it. Cloth is a basic material with broad sources, so supply is rarely a concern. Once placed, the black cat is animated and adopts moving poses, serving as the centerpiece of a camp's Halloween atmosphere; its official description reads, "Psss psss psss here nice kitty; don't blow up...." The Animatronic Black Cat is also a mechanical decoration, not the Bombay Cat from C.A.M.P. pet content: the former is a static piece, while the latter is a living pet that stays and moves around the camp. Both carry the black cat name, so the two are worth distinguishing when shopping.

What the Other Four Items Do

Skull Candles is a set of three skull-shaped candles, a lighting decoration, described as "See no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil"; it sells separately for 250 Atoms. Witch's Cauldron Cooking Station is a cooking station with a witch's cauldron appearance and full cooking functionality. Halloween Sound Effects Box plays Halloween sound effects once placed, setting the atmosphere. Laughing Witch Player Icon is a player icon, described as "Cackle, Cackle, Cackle!", an account-level cosmetic.

The value of the Black Cat Bundle sits in the Animatronic Black Cat; the other four items round out the Halloween atmosphere. The bundle returns only during the Halloween window, priced at 910 Atoms from October 6, 2026, a 30% discount. If a Halloween-themed camp is planned, it is worth completing the purchase during the sale and placing the black cat through the C.A.M.P. build menu.
