Gameplay
What Is the Lost Ark Stronghold Actually For?
You don't have to wait until max level for the Stronghold in Lost Ark. You unlock it around level 30, partway through the Luterra main story, and many players treat it as nothing more than a place to arrange furniture, when it is really a full logistics system covering honing, crafting, resources, and leveling. Every one of its functions corresponds to an effect that directly lowers your daily costs, and once you put it to use, its output grows steadily. These gains are not limited to one character; every character on the account can enjoy them.

The Research Lab Provides Passive Bonuses
The Research Lab is the first thing worth investing in, and it is the starting point for everything else.
- Crafting recipes, dispatch ships, and training slots all have to be unlocked in the Research Lab.
- Research into honing success rate, honing XP requirements, and the Action Energy cap directly affects honing efficiency and daily income.
- Research costs wood, ore, silver, and Action Energy, which is shared across the roster and refills over time.
The Research Lab's bonuses are invisible, but each one ultimately means cheaper honing.
The Workshop Produces Its Own Materials
The Workshop turns the materials gathered through life skills into finished products.
- Fusion materials, battle items, food, ability stones, and life skill tools can all be made here.
- You don't have to buy the fusion materials used for honing at the auction house; what you gather with life skills can be turned into them right in the Workshop.
- Recipes have to be unlocked in the Research Lab, and crafting has a Great Success chance that produces extra finished items.
The Workshop's value is self-sufficiency, saving you the cost of buying those materials.

Dispatch and Seal Exchange
Dispatch is the main source of Stronghold experience and resources.
- Normal dispatch missions award Subjugation, Victory, and Adventure seals in amounts that scale with their duration, plus pirate coins and cards.
- Seals are exchanged at the Stronghold merchant for cooking recipes and rapport items.
- Special dispatch handles content like Guardian Raids, Chaos Dungeons, and the Cube, using the corresponding entry tickets to earn rewards.
Dispatch runs on its own once it's set up, providing a steady stream of resources every day.
Training Camp and Knowledge Transfer
The Stronghold also handles character growth across the roster. The Training Camp has characters attack training dummies to earn combat experience, and their combat level can be trained up to one level below the highest-level character in the roster. Knowledge Transfer costs gold and lets a main character who has already cleared the story help an alt skip the main quest, saving the time spent running the same story again. The Pet Ranch has pets earn proficiency and tokens through labor, and once their proficiency is full, the tokens can be exchanged for an upgrade item that promotes a pet to Legendary quality.
The Stronghold is not a decoration feature that you unlock once and forget; it is a production line that needs daily upkeep. Research, crafting, dispatch, and training each yield their own output, and if you make them a fixed part of your daily routine, the returns become clearer as the Stronghold levels up. Raise multiple characters, and the value of this system scales accordingly.
