How Should New Players Arrange the Fastest Leveling Route in Lost Ark?
Lost Ark's leveling route looks completely different from a few years ago. In the old versions, new players had to hone layer by layer, stall at item level gates, and grind the same dungeons repeatedly, taking dozens or even over a hundred hours to go from zero to legion raids. After multiple rounds of burden reduction, the current leveling mainline has been heavily compressed. Early-to-mid T3 honing has been removed outright, main story quests hand out gear, and express events grant high item levels directly. The time from starting a fresh character to entering legion raids has been cut to the shortest window in the game's history. But a shorter route does not mean there is nothing to optimize. Which character gets the express event, at what point to switch from story to dailies, and how to collect event resources — getting these right can shave off half the remaining time. Breaking the leveling route down clearly is far more efficient than wandering after quest markers.

The Main Story Is the Fastest Path
In the current version, the main story is the core of leveling. Gear, experience, and feature unlocks all come from it, and no other content matches its efficiency.
- Main story quests directly grant gear at the required item level. Early-to-mid T3 honing has been removed, so item level climbs naturally as you push through the story. Honing only reappears at Akkan gear, item level 1525, but costs there have been significantly reduced.
- Features unlocked by the story are key milestones. Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, the Stronghold, and Una's Tasks all unlock through story progress. Pushing the story is unlocking your income channels.
- Once the story reaches the current patch node, item level is already near the legion raid threshold. What remains is filling in details and setup, not grinding more experience.
- Side quests rank below the main story. Return to them for materials only when stalled on a story gate; there is no need to deliberately clear them otherwise.
The main story is the top leveling priority for new players. Where the story goes, item level and features follow.
Express Events and Powerpasses Are Jump Tools
Express events and powerpasses can skip an entire stretch of story or progression. The first thing a new player should do after creating a character is check whether the current event applies.
- The latest event express sends one character straight to item level 1640, the T4 threshold, skipping the upper-T3 Akkan gear honing phase.
- Powerpasses also skip levels, but they are a separate system from express events. Use the express event for the main character first and save powerpasses for alts or backup.
- The express event can only be bound to one character. Try a few classes in the training room and settle on the main before binding. Once bound, it cannot be changed.
- The bound materials from the event period are enough to push the main to the Challenge Express target item level, with no extra gold spent on materials along the way.
Express events are the shortcut of shortcuts for new players, saving dozens of hours when used well. But they must be used correctly: decide the main first, then bind the event.

Dailies and Event Content Fill in the Gaps
Once the story is pushed far enough, dailies and event content become the main source for climbing higher, especially when stalled on item level.
- Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids are the stable source of honing materials. With the rest bonus bar, they can be cleared every other day without losing core materials.
- Legion raid solo mode can be cleared directly once item level qualifies. The tokens earned can be exchanged for legion gear crafting materials, a major boost outside the story.
- Event shops and login rewards have short time windows. Flip through every event page on login and claim all bound materials available.
- Stronghold research and trade skill output can be crafted into fusion materials. Crafting your own when stalled costs less than buying from the auction house.
Most stalls on the leveling path are solved by topping up materials from dailies and events. The story is the skeleton; dailies and events are the flesh.
The Fastest Leveling Rhythm
After creating a character, push the main story first. Do not get distracted by side quests or repeat content before reaching the area around the legion raid threshold. If the express event is unused, bind it right away, pull item level to 1640, then continue toward the Challenge Express target. Once item level qualifies, switch to the daily rhythm: Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids every other day, Una's Tasks three per day, and legion raid solo mode cleared weekly. Claim event resources on login and funnel all bound materials to the main character, not alts. When stalled, check for event honing reductions first, then look for any missed exchange channels, and only resort to hard-honing as a last resort. With the route done right, going from character creation to legion raids now takes only a few days.
The fastest leveling for new players comes down to one line: story first, express events for jumps, dailies for materials, and event resources fully claimed. the story sets the floor; the express event sets the ceiling; and dailies and events ensure you don't get stuck in the middle. In the current version, leveling itself is no longer the hard part. The hard parts are binding the express event to the right character, concentrating event resources on the main, and finding the right material-filling order when item level stalls. Get these sorted, and the leveling route is the straightest possible line, with no detours needed.
