Black Desert hyperboost Season Graduation Guide

Hyperboost is a fast-track progression system launched in Black Desert on July 30, 2026, alongside the new Agent class, designed for new and returning players. After completing the full three-stage process—season character, graduation, and Olvia Academ—a character can reach a gear score of approximately 730 to 750, covering all core equipment slots from Sovereign weapons and Kharazad accessories to Slumbering Origin defense gear. The entire process is designed to let a character starting from scratch acquire within a single month an equipment foundation that previously took the better part of a year to accumulate.

Season Character: Level Fast, Graduate Fast

The season character starts from the Ancient Stone Chamber, progressing through the main questlines in the order of Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, and Mediah, taking approximately seven to eight hours in total. The level target is 60 or 61, while simultaneously completing all season pass mission objectives. Season pass rewards do not need to be fully claimed before graduation—pass progress can continue to be advanced after graduating. The key action is clicking the Graduation button. Many players stay in the season for weeks farming extra materials, only to miss out on the Olvia Academy progression that can only be accessed after graduation. Once the season character reaches the target level, finishes the main quests, and completes the season pass, there is no reason to linger in the season.

Olvia Academy: Enter Immediately After Graduation

The first step after graduation is completing the Olvia Academy admission quest, then entering the Combat Course. The combat course is divided into Basic Tactics and Practical Tactics, taking about two to three hours combined. The core rewards from the course include:

PEN (V) Blackstar Weapon Selection Box: An admission challenge reward that lets you directly choose a fully enhanced Blackstar weapon.

Garmoth's Heart and two Inverted Hearts of Garmoth: Combat course completion rewards, with the Inverted Heart acquisition time reduced from 200 hours to 100 hours.

Four or more Obsidian Hammers: From combat course missions and coin exchanges, used for Sovereign weapon enhancement and repair.

Ten Enhancement Protection items: From the Adventure Log, usable during the PEN (V) to HEX (VI) and HEX (VI) to SEP (VII) enhancement stages.

How to Get the Six Kharazad Accessories

After completing the Olvia Academy admission quest, go to NPC Alustin in Velia. Each accessory slot requires handing in 10 Essence of Dawn and 50 Sharp Black Crystal Shards to exchange for a PEN (V) Kharazad accessory. Six slots—necklace, belt, two rings, and two earrings—require a total of 60 Essence of Dawn and 300 Sharp Black Crystal Shards. This quest can only be completed once per family, and the fully enhanced accessories obtained are family-wide.

The Four Pieces of Slumbering Origin Armor

Obtaining Slumbering Origin gear (helmet, armor, gloves, and shoes) requires first completing the boss tale quests in the Land of the Morning Light. The Golden Pig tale unlocks the helmet and shoes (requiring Calamity 8 or 9 difficulty), the Mountain Lord tale unlocks the armor (Calamity 8), and the Nine-Tailed Fox tale unlocks the gloves (Calamity 8). Calamity bosses have been heavily nerfed in the hyperboost version, with HP reduced to 70% and attack power reduced by 50% to 70%. After completing the tales, speak with the Black Spirit to accept the corresponding armor quests. The Agris Essence cap has been significantly lowered, and the guaranteed enhancement progression for Slumbering Origin gear is much faster than in previous versions.

The Three Sources of Sovereign Weapons

The first Sovereign weapon comes from exchanging and upgrading a PEN Tuvala weapon, the second from Olvia Academy course rewards, and the third is obtained through further enhancement of a Blackstar weapon. The three Sovereign weapons cover the main-hand, sub-weapon, and awakening weapon slots, contributing the largest share of gear score progression in the hyperboost process.

Additional Gains After Graduation

After completing the core process above, there are several fixed stat bonuses that can be obtained without extensive grinding. The Kamasylvia main quest provides DP +1, the O'dyllita main quest provides AP +1, and the Land of the Morning Light main quest provides AP +1 and DP +1. The 10th Anniversary Adventure Log provides AP +1, DP +1, and Max HP +103. The Igor Bartali Adventure Log provides AP +6 and DP +6. The Magnus main quest, completed up to the "Box from the Abyss" step, unlocks region-wide storage access and a PEN boss gear box.

Once season graduation, Olvia Academy, Kharazad accessory exchange, Slumbering Origin armor unlocks, and Sovereign weapon acquisition are all completed, the character's gear score already stands at the threshold for participating in most endgame content. There are only two core principles: do not linger in the season, and enter Olvia Academy immediately after graduation.
