Monopoly GO: Which Resources Get Wiped When a Season Changes?

Aug 5, 2026
Share: WhatsAppReddit

Each sticker season in Monopoly GO lasts roughly two to three months. When a season ends, the system performs a large-scale reset of your sticker album, star balance, and certain event progress. Having a clear grasp of how each resource is settled allows you to strategically clear out event tokens, plan your star usage, and time your vault openings during the final stretch of a season, maximizing the conversion of old-season accumulation into new-season starting resources. On the flip side, a partial understanding of the rules means you only discover key resources have been wiped on switch day, with virtually zero window for recovery.

Which Resources Get Completely Wiped?

A season change does not reset everything, but anything tied to stickers is indeed pulled out by the roots with nothing spared.

The sticker album, the star cap, and vault bonus rewards form the highest-risk resource triangle during a season switch. Each must be checked and handled before the season closes.

Which Resources Get Auto-Converted?

Some resources do not vanish outright but are converted by the system at a fixed ratio. The conversion return is generally lower than what you would get by using them proactively.

Auto-conversion is the system's fallback mechanism. The converted return is consistently lower than proactive use. Stars and tokens should be spent before the season and event deadlines whenever possible.

What Should You Do Before and After a Season Switch?

There is a standard set of steps for season-end and season-start. Executing them in order keeps resource loss to a minimum.

Clear tokens and manage star count at season-end. Unleash dice and chase the album at season-start. This back-to-back rhythm is a fixed resource management loop for every season.

What to Do Before and After a Season Switch

The season change's impact is concentrated on the sticker system. Board progress and the core currency framework are largely untouched. Your dice balance carries over intact, making it the most stable cross-season asset and the core resource that veteran players hoard heavily at season-end. Cash balance and Net Worth level are similarly unaffected. Landmark upgrade progress and board advancement continue unchanged into the new season. Friend relationships and the gift system are not reset by a season change, and your daily login reward streak remains unbroken. The one caveat: Community Chest weekly progress and partner assignments do reset when a new album launches, and unclaimed chest sticker packs likewise cannot be carried into the new season.

Monopoly GO's season switch follows a clear dividing line: the sticker system and event progress reset or convert, while board progress and core currency remain fully intact. Once this rule is internalized, you will know exactly which resources to prioritize at season-end and which can wait for the new season. Rather than regretting evaporated excess stars or unopened vaults after the switch, spend a few minutes in the final days checking everything off one by one: clear the event tokens, open a vault if your stars exceed the cap, and leave the rest to the system's auto-conversion.
