AION 2 Character Growth Step-by-Step Guide
The character growth path in AION 2 is composed of multiple independent yet interconnected progression modules—Sealed Dungeons provide the foundational output of Enhancement Stones and Devian Crystals, pets serve as the most essential long-term asset through possession effects and stat bonuses, and pendants and talismans offer stable directions for combat power improvement. Knowing the sequence of these modules and the priority of resource allocation is far more valuable than chasing a one-time boost in any single area. The character-specific lockout on Sealed Dungeons means each character has an independent daily entry cap, while partial benefits can be shared across multiple characters on the same account—how multi-character dungeon rotation is planned directly affects the speed of enhancement material accumulation. Pet training has a return cycle spanning several months, but the stat bonuses from possession effects apply to all characters, making it one of the highest-value resource investment directions on the entire account.

Core Materials Collected Daily in Sealed Dungeons
Sealed Dungeons are small instanced zones marked with a "?" on the map. All dungeons are accessible from level 30 onward, with each clear taking approximately ten to fifteen minutes. Each character has an independent daily entry limit—this means a single character cannot endlessly farm materials by repeatedly running the same dungeon, but rotating multiple characters on the same account through the dungeons can multiply the daily output of Enhancement Stones and Devian Crystals.
The core value of dungeon rewards is concentrated in three areas: Enhancement Stones are used for gear enhancement—weapons always take priority over armor and accessories, and extracting discarded equipment recovers all Enhancement Stones with only Kinah lost; Devian Crystals are used for Stigma skill tree upgrades, with core skills needing to be pushed to the level 12 and level 16 nodes for damage bonuses; some dungeons directly drop unidentified blue-quality equipment and pet training materials. The Dark Sealed Dungeon, Flame Sealed Dungeon, and Holy Sealed Dungeon are the top choices for quality pet egg drops—completing three to five dungeons per day in this order accumulates pet materials while also maintaining Enhancement Stone output.

Multi-Character Rotation Details
All characters on the same account share progress on pets, mounts, and certain collection-type rewards. Sealed Dungeon entry counts are character-specific—if the main character's daily entries are exhausted, switching to an alt to continue running dungeons can keep producing Enhancement Stones and Devian Crystals. A significant portion of these materials can be transferred to the main character through the account warehouse. However, equipment-bound materials cannot be transferred across characters—check the binding properties of the target drops before running dungeons to avoid spending time on materials that cannot be moved.
Training Pets
The value of pets in AION 2 exists on two levels. The first level is direct bonuses—an active combat pet provides active skills and passive stats: the Shadow Wolf provides critical hit rate bonuses and the Frenzy Rush damage skill, the Lava Turtle absorbs damage and boosts defense, and the Light Wing Bird restores HP and removes debuffs. The second level—and the more important one that many players only realize later—is possession effects. Each pet unlocks a possession stat upon reaching level 5, which takes effect for all characters. This means training multiple pets to level 5 is not a single-character improvement action, but a staircase-like growth in combat power across the entire account.
Pet advancement has a 100% success rate, with a maximum of ten tiers, and reaching tier 5 unlocks the core active skill. Excess pet eggs should be dismantled for advancement stones rather than sold—a common pet fully leveled has identical stats to a rare pet, with the only difference being appearance. If the budget is limited, investing materials into common-quality pets offers far better cost efficiency than spending high prices on rare pet eggs.
Daily Pet Dungeon Priority
The Pet Soul Dungeon has the longest return cycle among daily dungeons. It not only yields pet experience but also drops Pet Souls and Soul Crystals—the latter used to re-roll stat entries on the Genius Insight page. For PvE, prioritizing the re-rolling of Smite, Weapon Damage Boost, Attack Bonus, and Critical Hit delivers a far greater output increase than randomly assigned combinations.
The Value of Pendants and Talismans
The pendant is obtained during the level 45–50 main questline—it starts as a green-grade Draconic Pendant, evolves into a blue-grade item upon reaching +10 enhancement, and can be further upgraded to Unique grade through continued enhancement. After each quality evolution, the Awakening Gauge must be filled to 100% to unlock the material quest needed for the next upgrade. The gauge is filled by completing main quests, side quests, Sealed Dungeon objectives, and Exploration Outpost missions.
The talisman growth route similarly ties quality evolution to the +10 enhancement milestone—the base talisman evolves into a Rare grade upon reaching +10, and after further progression, reaching the next +10 milestone evolves it into Unique grade. Talisman Enhancement Scrolls come from Exploration Outpost content, while Pendant Enhancement Scrolls come from Trace-related content. Both accessories see a sharp rise in upgrade cost after reaching Unique grade, and the current version's cost-efficiency balance point sits at Unique +10—beyond this node, the input-to-output ratio drops noticeably with each additional level. The belt is another parallel accessory route with the same upgrade path as the talisman, and its Enhancement Scrolls also come from Exploration Outposts.
PvE Growth Path
PvP zones exist in AION 2's open map, but PvE character growth can be fully advanced without participating in open-world combat. Core reward channels—Sealed Dungeons, Nightmare, Essential Trial, Transcendence, and Mirror of Scarlet Desire—are all instanced content where there is no risk of being attacked by other players upon entry. If a daily hunting task spawns in a PvP-active area, it can be skipped for the day or completed by switching to a low-activity channel.
Details worth noting:
Nightmare can be challenged up to 14 times per week. Prioritize spending the dungeon currency on the Season 2 Colossus, Nightmare Wings, and Devian Crystals—these three items deliver the most significant long-term PvE combat power gains.
Essential Trial, at three runs per week, yields Enhancement Stones, Manastones, and Stigma materials, standing alongside Sealed Dungeons as core daily content.
Transcendence dungeons drop Arcana Cards—green adds 40 item levels, blue adds 60, and Unique adds 80. A full set of four Punishing Overture cards plus two Protected Soul cards is currently the recognized optimal PvE Arcana combination.
Map Collection: A total of 140 feathers are scattered across the map. Collecting all of them allows the Revelation Amulet to be upgraded to Unique +10, providing weapon damage percentage, penetration, defense, and HP bonuses.
Within AION 2's character growth path, pet training serves as the long-term foundation for the entire account—possession effects allow every pet trained to level 5 to provide permanent bonuses for all characters. Sealed Dungeons are the stable daily source of enhancement materials, and multi-character rotation can multiply this output. Pendants and talismans provide fixed combat power growth that does not rely on luck, advanced step by step according to the quality evolution rhythm. PvE characters do not need to set foot in open-world PvP—the core rewards are concentrated in instanced dungeons, and daily content choices can fully exclude PvP.
If only one priority can be set:
- First raise the active combat pet to level 5 to unlock the core active skill.
- Consistently complete the daily rotation of Sealed Dungeons and Essential Trials each day.
- Advance pendant and talisman evolutions step by step according to quality nodes.
- Every decision revolves around one core rule—direct resources toward the directions that provide long-term returns for all characters.
