POE2: How to Max Out Every Atlas Passive Point?
The first time I put the Arbiter of Divinity on the ground, I sat staring at the screen for a while. Not a single Atlas point moved, and my first thought was that the game had bugged out. Turns out the rules changed after 0.5.5: the quest kill was never meant to give points, and the real payout comes from the second, empowered kill. That one misunderstanding has tripped up a lot of people. Here's the full route to grab all 336 points, where the materials come from, whether buying tickets saves you time, and the resistances you need to read before the fight.

336 points total, stop grinding maps one by one
The 0.5.5 patch simplified Atlas progression entirely. You used to have to run the fortress map by map, but now one non-quest kill of the Arbiter of Divinity hands you the whole fortress and all 336 points in a single lump.
- Enter the endgame and work through the Precursor Fortress questline, killing the Arbiter of Ash to open up the inner sections.
- Clear the Patriarch Halls and Matriarch Halls to grab an Origin Spark and an Origin Cradle, the ingredients for the ticket.
- Head to the Origin Tower, combine the Cradle and Spark into an Origin Core, and use it to summon the Arbiter of Divinity.
- This first fight is the quest version, and it pays out zero points. That's normal, so don't start cursing the bug.
A lot of people stall right at step four, see nothing move, and assume their save is dead. There's a second fight coming, and that's the one that actually pays.
Before the second kill, where the materials come from
After the quest kill, you need a second Origin Spark and Origin Cradle to craft a non-quest Origin Core for another run, and there are two ways to get them.
- The honest way is farming the world map. New Patriarch and Matriarch Halls spawn marked by orange beams of light, they need T15 waystones, and the Matriarch Hall drops the Cradle while the Patriarch drops the Spark.
- The shortcut is the Currency Exchange. Sparks, Cradles, even finished Origin Cores are all tradeable, and early in a league buying one missing half is usually cheaper than a finished Core.
- Once you have the set, craft the non-quest Origin Core, go back to the Origin Tower, and take down the empowered version. The screen flashes "All ATLAS SKILL POINTS GRANTED" and the counter jumps to 336/336.
If points still don't show up, you almost certainly used the quest-version Core again. Buy a non-quest one and run it once more, nothing is bricked.

Read the resistances before you fight
Both of these bosses had their resistances retuned in 0.5.5, and plenty of lightning builds walk in and wonder why they hit like a wet noodle.
- The Arbiter of Ash has high fire resistance and is vulnerable to cold, so ice skills melt it faster.
- The Arbiter of Divinity is the opposite, low fire resistance but high lightning, so lightning builds take noticeably longer, swap to fire if you can. And since it hits you with heavy lightning damage, cap your own lightning resistance before you go in, the community generally recommends 87% or higher.
- In phase two, golden Divine Power orbs spawn on the ground, pick one up for a six-second buff that lets you kill the clones and grants immunity, don't just dodge.
Getting the resistances right saves a lot of time on the second fight, and if you're a lightning player, bring a fire setup before you go in.
The real difficulty with Atlas points isn't the execution, it's not getting fooled by the first kill. Tell the quest version apart from the non-quest one, buy the materials off the Exchange if you're short, and read the second fight's resistances, and you can clear all 336 in half a day. Stop grinding a hundred maps the honest way, that route isn't worth it in this patch. Hope you get the tree pointed the way you want, then go farm in peace.
