Gameplay
What Makes Nightmare Fregna Hard in Legend of Ymir?
Nightmare Fregna is a five-player boss expedition in Legend of Ymir, and its difficulty sits on a different plane from ordinary boss dungeons. An ordinary dungeon is hard because the boss has high health and high attack, and gear plus power are enough to clear it. Nightmare Fregna is hard because of the rules themselves: this fight strips away the value of growth stats, attack and defense stats both lose their meaning, and the revive count is capped. These three rules form the core difficulty and decide how the whole fight plays out. Each is broken down below.

Fixed Damage: Your Attack Panel Stops Working
The boss only takes fixed damage, and attack growth stats do nothing in this fight.
- Fixed damage ignores attack power, critical, and penetration; better gear does not raise your output against the boss.
- The fixed damage value differs by class type, so melee and ranged classes have different output baselines.
- Output efficiency returns to execution itself; positioning and skill timing matter more than panel numbers.
Fixed damage shuts down the route of overwhelming through stats, and the output baseline is set by class and execution.
Damage Scales with Max HP: Defense Stats Do Nothing
Damage taken is calculated as a percentage of your maximum HP, so defense stats cannot play a role in this fight either.
- Damage is based on HP percentage; raising health, defense, or evasion does not lower the damage you take per hit.
- Survival depends entirely on positioning and skill timing; only by dodging the boss's attacks can you stay alive.
- This mechanic forces players to learn the boss's skill rhythm instead of relying on gear to soak damage.
HP-percentage damage strips the value out of defense stats, and dodging becomes the only way to survive.

Revives Have a Hard Cap: Run Out and You Are Out
Revives have a fixed cap, and once they run out the character is removed from the fight.
- The cap is not increased by gear or power; when your revives are spent, you lose the right to keep fighting.
- One person down throws the party's output and tanking out of balance, and revive management becomes a team matter.
- Without planning revives early, the margin for mistakes shrinks as the fight goes on, and the timing of a death directly decides the outcome.
The revive cap maximizes the cost of every mistake, so each life has to be spent at a critical moment.
Entry Requirements and Party Setup
Nightmare Fregna has no basic entry count, requires level 55 as the minimum, and needs nightmare feathers crafted in advance. The five-player size means the party has to cover both damage and tanking, and each role has to be settled before entering. This fight is not won by gear but by how well the party adapts to the three rules, so preparing the entry materials and the party lineup in advance beats raising power at the last minute.
Nightmare Fregna is hard not because of the boss's health or attack numbers, but because it hollows out the value of growth stats. Fixed damage neutralizes attack stats, HP-percentage damage neutralizes defense stats, and the revive cap brings the margin for error to zero; stacked together, the three rules force players to clear through execution, positioning, and teamwork. Level and feathers are only the ticket; what truly decides the outcome is how well you adapt to the mechanics. Learn the class difference in fixed damage, practice dodging, and plan how to spend each life, and the nightmare turns from a hard fight into a coordinated rhythm.
