Legend of Ymir: Why Can't You Win Despite Decent Gear?
In Legend of Ymir, gear quality is the foundation of combat power, but it is not the whole picture. Many players have been in this situation: your equipment is similar to your opponent's, or even better, yet your dungeon damage lags behind and you always fall just short in the arena fights. The problem usually lies in the systems outside of gear. As a WEMIX blockchain game, Legend of Ymir's combat power is deeply multi-layered. Valkyries, Disir Codices, Collections, Potential allocation, skill book levels, Story Decks, Runes, and Clan buffs all stack together, and a gap in any single dimension gets amplified in real combat. The gWEMIX token runs through all of these progression systems as the core resource. Spending can accelerate your growth speed, but directional mistakes in your build cannot be fixed by throwing money at them.

The Rarity Gap: Valkyries and Disir
Valkyries carry the highest weight among all non-gear combat power systems, and rarity differences produce a very visible stat gap.
- A Legendary Valkyrie provides roughly 14,000 CP, Epic about 10,000, and Rare only about 6,000. A single rarity tier difference is an 8,000 CP gap, equivalent to the quality difference across multiple pieces of gear. Even near-identical equipment cannot close this deficit.
- Disir Codices work the same way — Legendary-grade stat bonuses far outstrip Epic and Rare. Registering Codices and making full use of their passive effects and event rewards is a key path for F2P players to narrow the gap.
- Black Valkyries can maximize your stat potential. Valkyrie choice must also align with your playstyle: farming, and PvP require different configurations. Picking the wrong one means wasting the system's benefits entirely.
Valkyries and Disir are the largest non-gear variables in combat power. A single rarity tier difference can be a chasm of thousands of CP.
Hidden Gaps: Collections, Potential, and Passive Skills
These three systems provide permanent base stats — they are the "invisible panel gap" you cannot see on the surface.
- Collections grant permanent stat bonuses and CP, and can even boost mana recovery. If your opponent has higher Collection completion, their base stats are simply thicker than yours. The same gear produces completely different results. Prioritize Black Valkyrie Collections.
- Potential should prioritize accuracy and attack first. If you misallocate into defense, you will either miss your target or fail to deal meaningful damage. Potential level gaps are also significant: if your opponent is at level 29 while you are at 19, a ten-level stat difference cannot be compensated by gear.
- Passive skill book levels are easily overlooked. Iron Vitality, Mana Control, and Potion Utilization provide massive HP and mana bonuses, yet many players never purchase them from the skill merchant. Monster damage, boss damage, and critical rate passives all deliver tangible output gains with every level.
Collections, Potential, and passive skills are the three pillars of your base stats. When gear is roughly equal, the cumulative gap in these three systems determines your actual offensive and defensive numbers in combat.

Gear Depth: Enhancement Levels and Enchantment Direction
Gear quality is only surface-level. Enhancement levels and enchantment direction are where the real gear gap opens up.
- Enhancement level matters more than gear quality. Weapons and secondary weapons should target +12 for PvP, armor at least +7. Accessories are the top priority: +9 grants 7% PvP skill damage, +10 raises it to 10%, and a fully optimized accessory set can stack up to 51% skill damage. A three-level enhancement difference can mean over 20% output disparity.
- Enchantment direction determines actual gear returns. Weapons and secondaries prioritize skill damage and physical damage. Accessories follow the same rule. For Blazons, prioritize skill damage, bash damage, PvP attack, and PvP penetration. Wrong enchantment direction means your gear is only delivering half its potential.
- Enhancement strategy also has efficiency differences. Cycle Radiant Enhancement Stones and protection-type stones on an Ivaldi weapon: push from +5 to +7, and if you only hit +6, use a downgrade stone to downgrade to +5 and retry. This is the safest and most efficient enhancement method.
Same gear quality does not mean same gear depth. Enhancement levels and enchantment direction are the largest hidden gaps between two equipment sets.
Four Easily Overlooked Systems
Story Decks activate stat bonuses through card collection, and completing a full deck triggers area buff effects for hidden combat power. The Rune system directly provides magic attack, critical rate, monster damage, and boss damage through equipped runes — a direct damage source outside of gear. Clan buffs grant permanent defense, magic defense, and attack bonuses, scaling with clan level. The Companion system, even with free companions, provides over 500 CP when upgraded, and both land and water type companions need to be collected and developed. Individually, each of these four systems adds modest gains, but together they stack into thousands of CP. Ultimately, combat outcomes beyond gear come down to the comprehensiveness of your account development. Pouring all resources into gear while neglecting the other systems may leave your CP number looking close on the surface, while your actual damage and survivability sit in an entirely different tier.
Why can't you win despite decent gear? The answer lies not in the gear itself, but in the seven systems beyond it. Valkyries and Disir represent the single largest variable — a Legendary versus a Rare is a gap of thousands of CP. Collections, Potential allocation, and passive skill books form a hidden base stat deficit; the same gear worn by characters at different completion levels produces entirely different attack and defense values. Enhancement levels and enchantment direction determine the true depth of your equipment, and the skill damage gap between +9 and +10 accessories alone can easily exceed 20%. Story Decks, Runes, Clan buffs, and Companions stack together as an equally non-negligible source of power. As a game built on the WEMIX chain, gWEMIX tokens and economic investment do affect growth speed — paying players can max these systems faster. But directional mistakes in build priority cannot be auto-corrected by spending. Misallocated Potential, wrong enchantment direction, neglected Collections — no amount of money will make your gear deliver its full potential if these are off. Gear is the base, progression systems are the exponent, and economic investment is the accelerator. Only when all three are aligned can you explain why two players with seemingly similar gear perform at completely different levels in actual combat.
