How Much Do PvP and PvE Builds Differ in Legend of Ymir?

Nov 5, 2026

In Legend of Ymir, PvP and PvE builds follow two entirely different logics. Following its official rework, the arena blocks out external gear, shifting the build focus entirely to PvP-exclusive attributes, whereas field and dungeon content continue to rely on conventional gear stats. The true extent of the difference depends entirely on that dividing line between inside and outside the arena. Once you understand this boundary, it is no longer surprising that the exact same character panel performs completely differently inside versus outside the arena.

How Much Do PvP and PvE Builds Differ in Legend of Ymir

PvE Builds Rely on Conventional Gear Stats

PvE builds stack exclusively conventional attributes.

l Numerical values such as attack power, defense, accuracy, and skill cooldown all originate directly from the equipment itself.

l When clearing dungeons or fighting field monsters, gear stats directly determine your output ceiling and survival floor.

l PvE lacks the layer of exclusive attributes, meaning the quality of a build is judged solely by its equipment panel.

Conventional gear stats are the sole source for PvE builds.

Arena Builds Shift Toward PvP-Exclusive Attributes

The arena operates on a completely different system. The official rework excludes external gear from the arena, standardizes stats, and shifts the build focus from conventional equipment to PvP-exclusive attributes. This set of exclusive attributes includes PvP attack power, PvP defense, PvP penetration, PvP damage, and PvP skill damage, which only take effect inside the arena. Victory in the arena does not depend on the gear worn outside, but rather on these exclusive attributes.

Stat Standardization Flattens the Numerical Gap Between Both Sides

Following stat standardization, gaps in PvE builds cannot be brought into the arena.

l No matter how powerful external gear is, it cannot enter the arena, and the level of conventional stats holds no weight inside.

l Disparities inside the arena stem from PvP-exclusive attributes and have nothing to do with the strength of PvE gear.

l The two progression lines do not convert into one another; no matter how high your PvE panel is, it will not transform into exclusive arena attributes.

Standardization cuts off the influence of PvE stats on the arena.

Conventional Gear is Shared Outside the Arena

Standardization applies strictly to the arena; exclusive attributes are not established outside of it.

l Open-field PK, much like PvE, relies entirely on conventional equipment stats for its numerical values.

l PvP-exclusive attributes only take effect inside the arena and hold no weight when brought outside.

l The arena entrance serves as the dividing line, and there is no stat standardization layer outside its doors.

Builds outside the arena share the same origin as PvE.

In Legend of Ymir, the difference between PvP and PvE builds goes beyond mere numbers—it lies in two entirely different sources of attributes. The arena relies on PvP-exclusive attributes, while dungeons and the field rely on conventional gear stats, with the wall of standardization standing right in between. To excel in both domains, players must cultivate intra-arena exclusive attributes and extra-arena conventional gear separately. By viewing arena and field builds independently, you can ensure your cultivated attributes are never applied in the wrong place.
