Does Legend of Ymir PvP Have Stat Balancing?
Players who care about PvP stat balancing mostly want to know whether the Arena comes down to skill or gear. The question has to be split into two tracks. The developers have announced stat equalization for the Arena, while open-field PK keeps gear gaps and instead uses damage correction to suppress instant kills. The two places treat stats in opposite directions. Whether to put PvP stats on your gear depends on which side you play more.

The Arena Moves Toward Stat Equalization
The Arena is where the balance changes were officially announced.
- The developers announced an Arena rework where every player starts a fight from the same stats.
- Placement matches set the tier first, and a match is decided only by skill and judgment.
- Inside, growth comes only from Arena-exclusive currency and cards, while outside gear stats are blocked.
Gear gaps do not matter in the Arena; what remains is a contest of skill.
Open-Field PK Only Adjusts Damage
Open-field PK has no unified stats, and gear stats work as usual.
- In open-field encounters, gear strength shows up directly in damage.
- The developers lowered PvP damage to fix the problem of being killed in an instant.
- They also added PvP defense buffs to stretch out how long fights last.
Open-field PK does not flatten stats; it only lowers the extreme values of damage.

PvP-Exclusive Stats Are a Separate Set
Gear also carries a set of exclusive stats that only take effect in PvP: PvP Attack, PvP Defense, PvP Penetration, PvP Damage, and PvP Skill Damage all belong to this group. These stats are calculated separately and work apart from normal stats, and balance changes adjust these values rather than leveling all stats together. That is why this set is where open-field damage adjustments land.
Balance Corrections Are Still Ongoing
PvP balance was not finished in one pass; the developers keep adjusting it.
- The developers use player votes to decide the direction of later changes.
- Defense values, status effects, and knockdown rules have all been changed across patches.
- Classes like the Völva, Berserker, and Warlord are also being adjusted.
The numbers will keep changing with each version; this part has no final form.
This system is not a single rule in Legend of Ymir. The Arena wipes out gear gaps and lets skill decide the outcome; open-field PK keeps original stats, and the developers maintain balance through damage adjustments and exclusive stats. If you want fair fights, enter the Arena; if you want open-field PK, accept this gap. The two sides each rely on their own set of stats, so decide your main battlefield before investing in gear. Your build direction should be rechecked with each version.
