How to Make Coins Fast in FC 26 Ultimate Team
Coins are the currency that controls everything in FC 26 Ultimate Team. Good players cost coins, SBCs demand coins, and the gap between the squad you have and the squad you want is almost always a coin problem. Most players grind matches and wonder why they never build wealth. The answer is usually that they're earning coins the slow way and spending them the fast way.
There's a real skill to building a coin balance, and it doesn't require spending money or winning every match. Here's how I'd approach it.

Learn the Transfer Market First
Trading is where the serious coin makers live, and it starts with understanding the tax. Every sale you make on the Transfer Market gets hit with a 5% tax, and that tax is charged on your selling price, not your cost. The practical result is that to break even on a card you bought for 1,000 coins, you need to sell it for about 1,053 coins. Your buy price divided by 0.95 is the real break-even number, and any profit comes on top of that.
That small gap is the reason half of beginner trades quietly lose money. They buy at what looks like a discount, sell at what looks like a profit, and the tax eats the difference. Once you do the math before you buy instead of after you sell, the bad trades stop happening.
The market itself moves on a weekly rhythm. Supply floods in when rewards drop, and demand spikes before the weekend when players build squads for competitive play. Buy in the flood, sell in the spike. It sounds obvious, but most players do the opposite because they react to prices instead of planning around the calendar.
Start With Trading Methods That Work
Trading methods range from simple to genuinely advanced, and you don't need to master all of them. Pick one, get consistent, then expand:
- Flipping popular gold cards is the reliable starting point. Buy meta-rated cards in the 83 to 86 range when the market is cold and resell them when demand ticks up, especially when a new SBC needs that rating band. The margins are small per card but repeatable across dozens of flips
- Fodder investing is the patient play. High-rated cards that feed SBCs swing in price constantly. Buy them cheap during the trough and hold until a strong SBC pushes demand up
- Sniping is the fast-reaction method. Set tight search filters just below market value and buy underpriced listings the moment they appear. It rewards speed and repetition more than deep market knowledge
- The old Bronze Pack Method gets mentioned in every guide, but it has lost most of its edge in recent titles. Pack prices and contents changed, and the SBCs that used to feed on low-rated cards aren't what they were. It's still low risk, but it's a slow grind, not a fast method
The common thread is volume and patience. Nobody gets rich on a single flip. It's the repeated small wins, done hundreds of times, that turn a 10k balance into a 500k one.
Let Gameplay Pay You Weekly
Trading is the growth engine, but gameplay rewards are the baseline income that funds your first trades. These are the steady weekly sources:
- Division Rivals is the most consistent earner. Every week you play matches, climb your division, and collect rewards. When you can choose between coins and untradeable packs, lean toward coins while you're building your balance
- Squad Battles is the offline option. It pays less than online play but it's low stress, and the weekly rewards come regardless of how well you play against other people
- Champions, the weekend league, is the big one. It pays the best rewards in the game, but you have to qualify through Rivals first, and the matches are genuinely competitive. Treat it as the goal, not the starting point
- Objectives and milestones are the free layer. Many of them are just menu tasks or things you do anyway, and they quietly drop coins and packs into your club
Stack these together and you have a real income floor every single week, which is what funds your trading without forcing you to sell your best players.
Use SBCs to Your Advantage
Squad Building Challenges are where a lot of players leak coins, but they're also where the smart ones profit. The key is understanding which side of the SBC you're on.
When a new SBC drops, it creates instant demand for specific card types. League, nation, rating. If you've been holding those cards, that's your moment to sell, not to complete. The players who make money off SBCs are the ones who stocked fodder during the quiet part of the week and sold into the spike.
Completing an SBC is worth it when the reward clearly beats the cost, and tradeable rewards are worth more than untradeable ones because you can sell what you pull. Use untradeable cards from your club first whenever possible. The real mistake to avoid is sinking big piles of tradeable coins into transitional untradeable SBCs you'll outgrow within a week. That's not the same as the marquee untradeable cards. Player of the Month cards, top Icons and Heroes are untradeable, and they're still absolutely worth spending coins to finish, because a genuine upgrade to your starting eleven pays itself back every match you play.

Break the Habits That Keep You Poor
The coin balance doesn't get drained by one big mistake. It gets drained by a hundred small ones, and a few habits account for most of the damage.
Buying packs with coins is the biggest one. Store packs almost never return their value, and every pack you buy is coins you can't trade with. It's the fastest way to turn a working balance into nothing. Let packs come from rewards and objectives, not from your hard-earned coins.
Dumping cards without checking their price is the silent killer. Before you quick-sell a card or list it at the minimum price, check what it's actually worth. Bronze and silver players from obscure leagues can spike to thousands when an SBC suddenly needs them, and the player who offloaded them for 150 coins is the one who just handed over that profit.
The last habit is spending on upgrades you don't need. Every coin you sink into a slightly better version of a player you already have is a coin that's not working for you on the market. Build the squad you need, then let the rest of your balance grow. Wealth in Ultimate Team comes from what you don't spend as much as what you earn.
