FC 26 Pre-Season Guide: Unlock Every FC 27 Carry-Over Reward Before the Deadline
The FC 26 cycle is winding down, and this is the window where a year of grinding turns into a head start in FC 27. EA runs a Pre-Season event every year as the bridge between games, and this year's edition closes on Friday, September 18 at 10:00 AM PT. Once that window shuts, the rewards are gone for good.
If you've been playing FC 26 all year, this is the moment where a chunk of that effort carries into the next game. The catch is that it doesn't happen automatically. You have to finish the right objectives, and you have to claim things the right way, before the clock runs out.

What the Pre-Season Event Actually Is
Pre-Season is EA's end-of-cycle event, and it does one job: it turns your FC 26 progress into rewards that carry over into FC 27. This year's version opened in late August and closes on Friday, September 18, which means the window is short and the end is nearly here.
The rewards aren't small. Depending on how much of the event you complete, you can bank coin boosters, packs, player picks, kits, and cosmetic items, all of which land in your FC 27 club when the new game goes live. For a returning player, those early coin boosters are worth more than they look, because a strong coin balance in week one of FC 27 is a genuine advantage in the first transfer market.
The important thing to understand is that these rewards are locked behind objectives, not handed out for free. You need to actually play and finish them. Skipping the grind means skipping the head start.
How the Carry-Over Rewards Get Delivered
The delivery mechanics are where a lot of players get caught out, because the rewards don't just appear on their own.
Completing Pre-Season objectives earns you rewards that are flagged for FC 27, not FC 26. The delivery then requires you to log into the full game, on console or PC, at least once before the deadline for everything to be credited properly. The Web App and Companion App can show you what's coming, but some packs and tokens don't settle through the web interface, so a proper in-game login is the safe way to make sure every reward lands in your account.
There's also a final cutoff on delivery in early October. Finish the objectives in FC 26 now, then log into the full game of FC 27 when it opens and claim what's yours. Leaving it to the web app alone is the easiest way to end up missing something.
Which Objectives to Finish First
Pre-Season drops a lot of objectives at once, and the worst mistake is trying to do all of them in a scramble. Some are worth far more than others, so go in this order:
- Prioritize the coin booster objectives. Coin boosters multiply your match earnings in FC 27, and they compound hard in the first few weeks, so they're the single highest-value reward in the whole event.
- Then hit the pack and player pick objectives. These give you early squad-building cards in FC 27, and even average packs are useful when your club is empty.
- Cosmetic rewards come last. Kits and tifos are nice to have, but they don't help you build a team, so only chase them if you've already banked the useful stuff.
- Check the expiry timer on every objective. Some Pre-Season objectives have shorter windows than the event as a whole, and a finished objective you forgot to claim is worth nothing.
If you're short on time, a few finished high-value objectives beat a half-dozen almost-done ones. Don't spread yourself thin across the whole list.
What Else Is Live in FC 26 Right Now
Pre-Season isn't the only thing happening in the game this week. A few other events are wrapping up alongside it, and they're worth knowing about while you're in the menus:
- Pre-Season Batch 2 is the current content drop, re-releasing high-rated FUTTIES and Icon cards through SBCs, Objectives, and packs. This is your last realistic shot at adding some of the best cards in the game to your FC 26 club.
- A limited-time 99 OVR Player Pick was offered to anyone who logged in by September 16, handing out a choice of top-rated cards. If you claimed it, that's a free elite card sitting in your club.
- Season 9 is the World Tour season with a 2030 World Cup theme, covering Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. Its reward track is still there to grind if you haven't finished it.
- The Ultimate Rewind promo from mid-August brought back past campaign content and re-released Evolutions material, which is why the market has been flooded with re-released cards.
- For a coin-focused player, the re-released FUTTIES and Icon cards matter the most, because a flood of high-rated supply is the kind of thing that shifts prices and creates buying opportunities.

Don't Leave It to the Last Minute
Every year, a surprising number of players show up to the final day of Pre-Season having done nothing, then panic-grind for a few hours and miss half the rewards. Don't be that player this time.
The window closes on Friday, September 18 at 10:00 AM PT. If you're reading this before that deadline, the objectives are still open, but there's no extension and no way to earn the carry-over rewards after the fact. Your best move right now is to log in, open the Pre-Season objective list, and finish the coin booster objectives first, because those are the ones that matter most in FC 27.
A small head start in the new game goes further than most players expect, and it costs you a couple of evenings of FC 26 right now. Finish the objectives, claim everything in the full game, and walk into FC 27 with coins and packs already waiting.
