How to Get the Meadow Breeze Sprayer-Fallout 76
The Meadow Breeze Sprayer is a legendary energy weapon added to Fallout 76 by Bethesda in the "Burning Springs" update. A variant of the Plasma Rifle, it fires a mist-like barrage with a red flame effect that applies continuous burn damage to targets. When this weapon first debuted on the Public Test Server, it supported full legendary mod customization — players could freely equip any legendary effects to match their build — and in live combat testing during that period, the weapon easily dealt over 10,000 damage per hit against Guardian-type enemies, a truly impressive performance. After the official release, Bethesda locked its legendary stars, making it impossible to re-roll. However, in the upcoming September 2026 update, the weapon will once again open up for re-crafting, allowing any legendary mods to be freely equipped and making it a top choice once more for both boss fights and mob clearing.

Why This Weapon Is Worth Your Time
The core value of the Meadow Breeze Sprayer reveals itself at two points in time. In the current version, although the legendary stars are locked, its three built-in fixed legendary mods — +50% armor penetration, replenish 15 Action Points per kill, and weapon durability consumption halved — already combine to form a highly practical close-to-mid-range combat configuration. The red flame's burn effect lasts for five seconds after impact, and when facing large groups of densely spawning enemies, the flame's area burn coverage is not to be underestimated.
What matters more, however, is the upcoming September update. Once the re-crafting function reopens, this weapon can be fitted with any legendary mods. In early PTS testing, a freely modded Meadow Breeze Sprayer dealt over 10,000 damage per hit in boss fights — a level of output that places it among the top tier of current legendary energy weapons. If the weapon is already owned but has been sitting idle in the stash box, the September update means it is worth pulling back out and investing resources into mod configuration. If the weapon has not yet been acquired, collecting the prerequisites now is the best way to lock in this future powerhouse option ahead of time.

How to Get the Meadow Breeze Sprayer
The primary way to obtain the Meadow Breeze Sprayer is by completing the "Dirty Laundry" side quest. The quest is triggered by picking up Abraxodyne Intel Cases in the Burning Springs region — these are light blue briefcases with the Abraxo star logo on top, scattered across every corner of the Burning Springs area. Once the first Intel case is picked up, the quest automatically activates at Bodhi in the Athens, Ohio region. There is no need for manual turn-in — once the number of collected Intel cases reaches 76, the weapon is automatically placed in the inventory. Over 150 Intel cases are scattered throughout the region, far exceeding the 76 required for the quest.
High-Density Intel Case Locations
To compress the collection time, prioritize heading to the following locations with higher Intel case density:
- 7 cases near the Meadow Breeze Storage Depot
- 4 cases in the Abraxodyne Chemical Power Station area
- 4 cases at the Railroad Service Yard
Additionally, three special cache points can provide multiple cases in a single pickup: near the base of the volcano at Dino Peaks Mini Golf, the second floor of the white house in the southeast of Albany, and the top-floor room of the tallest tower at Fort Steuben. Planning a circular collection route around these points can bring the total time for 76 Intel cases down to approximately two to three hours.
How to Recover the Weapon If Lost
Many players, after completing the Dirty Laundry quest — whether due to inventory cleanup, a misclick, or dissatisfaction with the weapon's performance at the time — have scrapped or discarded their Meadow Breeze Sprayer. The side quest that grants this weapon can only be completed once; re-collecting Intel cases will not trigger a second weapon reward. The only path to recovery is repurchasing it from a vendor in Highway Town. Fast travel to Highway Town, and when selecting the destination, choose the Bounty Board option. After loading, the character will respawn near the bounty board — turn around and a van can be seen parked by the roadside. Walk up to the weapon slot in front of the van, and the purchase option for the Meadow Breeze Sprayer will appear in the list, priced at 10,000 caps.
Worth noting:
Vendor & Alias: The van vendor's inventory in Highway Town (managed by Windy) may list an item under the variant alias "Medo Grease Flayer" — please note that this is simply an alternate identifier for the Meadow Breeze Sprayer; the name differs slightly, but it is the exact same weapon.
The weapon obtained through purchase has identical stats to the quest-acquired version, including the same fixed legendary mods.
If both the quest version and the purchased version are held, both weapons share equal mod customization rights in the September re-crafting update.
If inventory space is insufficient, be sure to confirm there is enough capacity before purchasing — the weapon goes directly into the inventory upon purchase and will not remain in the vendor's stock waiting to be claimed.
The Meadow Breeze Sprayer currently sits in the position of an untapped asset waiting to be unlocked — the current locked mods are already sufficient for daily mob clearing and mid-range combat, while the September re-crafting update could push this weapon's strength to the forefront of the energy weapon tier. For those who have not yet acquired the weapon, collecting 76 Abraxodyne Intel cases is the most direct path to obtaining the standard version — the full route takes roughly two to three hours, and planning the route around the recommended locations can significantly shorten the collection time. If you continue collecting all the way to 150 Intel cases, you can even unlock an upgraded variant, the Prototype ABX03, which adds an enhanced 4-star effect on top of the original. If the quest has already been completed but the weapon has been lost, the Highway Town vendor's 10,000-cap purchase option provides the only recovery path. Owning this weapon before the September update arrives means being able to jump directly into the mod re-crafting phase on launch day, rather than spending several hours on the Intel case route first.
