Zenless Zone Zero Account Progression Guide
Eight out of ten people who just started Zenless Zone Zero get stuck on the same three things: their account level won't go up, their agents won't get stronger, and their Polychromes never seem to add up. I hit the same wall when I was starting out. For the first two weeks I spread my upgrade materials across four or five characters, and the result was a slow story grind, losing in Shiyu Defense, and a whole lot of wasted effort when I looked back. This isn't going to be theory. I'll just lay out account progression as three simple threads, and following them will save you a lot of pain.

Your Account Level Is the Real Progress Bar
A lot of new players only stare at their character levels, but it's actually your Inter-Knot level (your account level) that decides how high your agents can go and which modes you can unlock. If the level is capped, leveling your agents any harder is pointless.
- The main story is the fastest way to level up. New accounts should push HDD story commissions first, the rewards are far better than farming materials, and things like Hollow Zero and Combat Simulation only unlock through it.
- Do your daily tasks every single day. That's 600 Inter-Knot credits a day, plus 300 more from weeklies, and it's the most stable source of experience. Don't skip five minutes of work.
- Don't get stuck on the rank-up commission every ten levels. There's a gate mission at level 20, 30, 40, and 50, and if you don't clear it, both your account and character caps stay locked.
Dump Your Resources into One Main Team
The most wasteful way to play through the early game is splitting your Dennies, upgrade materials, and W-Engines evenly across a pile of characters. It looks fair, but in reality none of them can carry you through the story.
- One team is enough. A triangle of Attack, Stun, and Support can already handle most fights, leave everyone else in the warehouse.
- Max out your main DPS first, and your supports are fine ten levels lower. Feed your levels, W-Engines, and core skills all to your main DPS first, your supports just need to stay alive.

Stamina and Polychromes Hurt the Most When Spent Wrong
The two most precious resources in this game are stamina and Polychromes. One controls how much you can farm each day, the other controls who you can pull, and how and where you spend them directly decides whether your account grows fast or slow.
- Don't touch Drive Discs before level 35. In the early game, spend all your stamina on breakthrough materials and skill books, and wait until level 45 before farming gold-grade Drive Discs. Farming them early is pure waste.
- Only spend Polychromes on the limited banner. Standard banner characters have plenty of chances to show up later, but a limited character is hard to get again once you miss it, so save up to 180 pulls for a guaranteed limited character.
- Don't buy starter accounts for cheap. Self-pulled accounts, account boosting, and discounted Polychromes all carry the risk of bans and account recovery, and it's too late to regret it once your account is gone.
Account progression really comes down to eight words: concentrate your resources, account level comes first. Treat your account level as the real progress bar, pour your materials into one team that can actually fight, and spend your stamina and Polychromes where they count, and the early game won't feel so rough. On top of that, progression from level 20 to 50 got faster after version 3.1, so now's a good time to start, and if you follow the above, you'll have your account built up in no time.
