What Preparations Should You Make for a New Monopoly GO Season?
A Monopoly GO season change is a full reset: the sticker album is wiped, sticker stars go to zero, and vault rewards are voided. Anything left unhandled gets settled by the system at the moment of the switch. The final days of a season are effectively a resource management window. Convert your leftover stickers, stars, and event tokens into the most valuable forms before the reset, and you start the new season with a much thicker foundation than someone entering empty-handed. Most players lose out because they don't understand the reset rules, letting excess sticker stars get swallowed and event tokens shrink into cash. Sorting out the handling order before the switch makes a substantial difference in returns.

Handling Sticker Stars and Vaults
Sticker stars are the most important account to settle at season reset. Handled well, they convert directly into dice or new-season packs.
- Sticker stars do not carry over: After the season switch, sticker stars reset to zero. Unhandled stars auto-convert into dice, capped at about seven hundred stars for seven hundred fifty dice. Anything beyond the cap is voided.
- Save seven hundred stars to max the conversion: The goal is to hold seven hundred or more stars to claim the full dice compensation, then spend the excess on lower-tier vaults before the reset.
- Open vaults before the reset: The Gold Vault holds dice, cash, and premium packs, so opening it before the reset carries the highest value. To keep packs for the new season, you can force-close the app during the confirmation animation and reopen after the season goes live.
- Don't leave it to the last second: Stars beyond the seven hundred cap won't wait for a final reminder. Spend them early to preserve their value.
The core of handling sticker stars is trading "stars that will be wiped" for "dice that will stay."
Wrapping Up Stickers and Trades
The end of a season is the final wave of sticker trading. Incomplete sets and spare gold cards all need to be sorted out before the reset.
- Trade duplicates first: Duplicate cards are voided right after the reset. Use the exchange system to fill gaps before the season ends, and avoid careless trades that get you scammed.
- Rush gold cards into Golden Blitz: Gold cards can't be traded normally and only open up during Golden Blitz. Hitting a Golden Blitz window at season's end is the last chance.
- Five sends per day: The exchange system caps at five sends daily. Plan ahead during the closing period instead of wasting the allowance on pointless trades.
- Don't force incomplete sets: If too many cards are missing, stop burning dice to chase them. Saving the resources for the new season is the better play.
The goal of wrapping up stickers is to complete whichever sets you can, and cut losses on the ones you can't.

Managing Cash, Dice, and Events
The resource rhythm differs between a season's end and a new season's start. Cash, dice, and event tokens each need their own handling.
- Save cash for the new season: Stop upgrading landmarks at season's end and bank your cash. Spend it in the new season during the combined Builder's Bash and Landmark Rush window to claim a full round of new-season pack rewards at once.
- Spend event tokens soon: Hammers, pickaxes, and drop chips usually convert into cash after the event ends, which is worth far less than dice and packs. Clear them out first at season's end.
- Don't push the leaderboard at season's end: The better you place near the reset, the harder your bracket may be in the new season. Ease off near the end, and a high rank comes more easily at the new season's start.
- Keep the daily baseline: Quick Wins and the every-eight-hour shop gift still get claimed. Bank the dice for the new season rather than going all-in for the last few cards.
Save cash, clear tokens, ease off the leaderboard. These are the three main lines at the turn of a season.
The Closing Checklist for a New Season Start
Preparation before a season switch comes down to a single checklist: build sticker stars to seven hundred to max the dice conversion, and spend the excess on lower-tier vaults. Open the Gold Vault before the reset, or force-close it into the new season. Trade duplicates and gold cards before the reset, and cut losses on incomplete sets. Stop spending cash on old landmarks and save it for the new season's building window. Use up event tokens before they expire. Get through these items one by one, and the new season starts with dice compensation, a cash reserve, and new packs in hand. Your starting foundation ends up a much stronger footing than walking in blind.
A season switch isn't an ending. It's a gate where resources get redistributed. Those who know how to handle it convert leftover resources into dice and cash before the gate closes. Those who don't can only watch excess stars void and tokens shrink. Sort out the handling order of stars, packs, cards, cash, and tokens before the switch, and the old and new seasons connect seamlessly. Last season's accumulation becomes next season's starting capital. That is the real meaning of season preparation.
