Fallout 76 Invaders From Beyond Event Returns
The limited-time Invaders From Beyond event returned to Appalachia on August 18 and runs through September 1. During the event, players can join a Zetan invasion at the top of every hour, push back the alien attackers, destroy Brainwave Siphons, and defeat General Zeta. The rewards lean alien-themed: special weapon plans, C.A.M.P. objects, cosmetics, and 4-star Legendary equipment. Rare Fasnacht masks remain the item that draws the most attention, but their current drop behavior does not match the published rates, so it is worth planning your goals around that.

How the Zetan Invasion Works
When the event is active, a Zetan saucer appears at a set location somewhere in Appalachia at the top of each hour. Once you step into the area, you work alongside other players to hold off the aliens and clear the objectives.
The loop breaks down into three stages:
Clear the aliens: defeat the Zetan units that spawn in the area to push the event forward.
Destroy the Brainwave Siphons: find and break several siphons to stop the Zetans from harvesting data.
Defeat General Zeta: once the earlier objectives are complete, General Zeta appears. Taking it down finishes the round.
Completing a round can drop the following:
4-star Legendary equipment: General Zeta can drop these, and they are a big part of why players repeat the event.
Alien weapon plans: a selection of special weapons and their mod plans.
C.A.M.P. items and cosmetics: a good fit for players who enjoy building camps or collecting decorations.
XP, Caps, and S.C.O.R.E.: progress for your character level and the season.
For players who already have solid gear, the event usually comes down to 4-star Legendaries and any alien plans they have yet to collect. For newer players, these two weeks are also a good window to stock up on camp decorations and gain levels.

Rare Fasnacht Mask Drop Rates
Rare Fasnacht masks are among the most discussed rewards in this event. Based on the published data, General Zeta's base chance to drop a rare mask sits around 5%. Split that by mask and the odds shrink further: each individual Glowing mask works out to roughly 0.208%. There is one more condition that affects what drops, though. Right now the server-side drop switch is still off, so rare and Glowing Fasnacht masks are not entering the drop pool at the theoretical rate. That 5% is only the base figure baked into the reward table—it does not mean you can get one during the current run. Bethesda may adjust the reward configuration as the event goes on. If the studio flips the drop switch on, the picture changes, so keep an eye on official announcements. Separately, the newly added glowing red-hot mask is not part of this event's reward pool.
It helps to keep three categories apart:
Standard event rewards: Zetan-themed items, plans, and Legendary equipment.
Rare Fasnacht masks: not currently part of the normal drop table.
The glowing red-hot mask: not on General Zeta's drop list.
So if the special mask is your main goal, this Zetan invasion is not worth dumping hours into.
Minerva's Last Day
Away from the event, Minerva's current stop is also about to end. Her last day in Appalachia is August 19. Before she leaves, you can visit her to check the Gold Bullion plans she is selling.
If you need to fill out your Gold Bullion plans, buy before she goes:
- Check whether her stock includes the gear or building plans you want.
- Order your purchases around how much Gold Bullion you have.
- Do not miss this return window.
Once Minerva leaves, you will have to wait for her next rotation before you can buy from her again.
How to Approach the Event
This Invaders From Beyond run lasts two weeks. You can join as often as your needs call for. There is no need to sink hours into it every day.
Worth prioritizing:
4-star Legendaries: for players looking to upgrade their gear.
Alien plans: for players filling out camp builds and special decorations.
Season progress: joining the event also earns XP and S.C.O.R.E.
For efficiency-minded players, fold the hourly Zetan invasion into your daily routine and take part between other tasks rather than waiting around for each spawn.
This return of Invaders From Beyond brings alien-themed rewards and 4-star Legendaries to the table. The focus remains on General Zeta's drops, plans, and camp collectibles. Rare Fasnacht masks are not currently dropping, so there is little reason to pour effort into that one item. Minerva's stop ends on August 19, so players who need Gold Bullion should buy first. For the rest of the event, joining the hourly invasions at a steady pace is enough to take home the main rewards.
