Fallout 76 How To Kill EN06 With The Elder's Mark In one magazine?

In the Gleaming Depths raid, the EN06 Guardian is the first encounter, and it tests your gear, your damage output, and your sense of pacing all at once. The fight plays out in two stages: you have to break the shield on its back before the torso takes real damage. EN06 has a deep health pool, so a reload at the wrong moment breaks your damage rhythm and drags down VATS, your crit cycle, and your health recovery with it.

Why the Elder's Mark Works

The Elder's Mark is a unique submachine gun added in the Once in a Blue Moon update. It fires .45 rounds, and it brings a high base fire rate with a large magazine. Out of the box it holds 50 rounds and fires at a rate of 100, and its legendary effects can be re-rolled. What sets it apart from a standard submachine gun is the built-in Cursed effect, which raises damage and fire rate but wears the weapon down faster.

Against a target like EN06 that demands sustained output, the Elder's Mark earns its keep after the legendary effects are re-rolled. Because Cursed survives a re-roll, you can keep that edge and reshape the rest of the effects around a big magazine, frequent crits, and steady recovery. The whole build hinges on Quad for a larger magazine, with VATS and crits carrying the damage loop so a reload gap barely appears—or never appears at all.

The Four Legendary Effects

Every effect on the Elder's Mark should serve one goal: pushing out a full magazine's worth of intense damage. Each slot does a specific job, and missing any one of them drags down the whole fight.

Quad (1-star): Quad is the foundation of the whole build. A stock Elder's Mark holds 50 rounds; Quad pushes that to around 200. Against EN06, that 200-round magazine means you keep firing after the shield drops instead of stopping to reload, which keeps your damage steady.

Rapid (2-star): Rapid raises the fire rate, pushing an already fast weapon even faster. A higher fire rate clears those 200 rounds sooner and triggers more VATS crits along the way, which smooths out the whole damage loop.

VATS Optimized (3-star): The Elder's Mark fires fast and burns AP quickly in VATS, so cutting the AP cost per shot matters a lot. VATS Optimized stretches your time in VATS, keeps the crit cycle steady, and stops you from running dry on AP mid-fight.

Conductor's (4-star): Conductor's is what keeps the build going over a long fight. When you land a critical hit, it restores AP and health at the same time. The Elder's Mark wants to keep firing non-stop, so the AP recovery protects your VATS loop while the healing keeps you alive soloing EN06.

If breaking the shield faster is the priority, Pin-Pointer's works as a substitute. It adds damage against specific body parts, which helps when you need to focus a weak spot. But if the goal is sustained damage after the shield drops and a full damage loop to the finish, Conductor's stays the steadier pick.

Armor, Perks, and Preparation

Beyond the weapon effects, a complete Elder's Mark setup needs the right armor, perk cards, and pre-fight prep. On the weapon, a Prime Receiver raises your overall damage, and a suppressor cuts the risk of being spotted so you open the fight from a stable position. On a stealth route, you can also lean on being hidden for extra damage. Armor comes down to how you like to fight. If you favor safe output, Chinese Stealth Armor keeps you hidden and lowers how often you take a hit. A low-health build swaps in Unyielding Secret Service armor instead, turning a low health bar into higher stats and more damage.

The tradeoff is that low health demands tighter play, since you have to watch the boss's reach and your own position. For perk cards, Commando, Tank Killer, Better Criticals, and Covert Operative carry the damage. Tormentor boosts limb damage, and since EN06's shield counts as a limb, it also speeds up the shield phase. For mutations, take Eagle Eyes for more crit damage and steer clear of Grounded, which can lower some of your damage. Before you step into the raid, get your build into fighting shape: fill your critical meter before entering EN06's room so you can drop into a crit loop right away. If you run low health, use Toxic Goo to hold it low and trigger Unyielding armor and Nerd Rage.

Common Questions

Q: What is the Elder's Mark's biggest strength?

A: Not its damage per shot. It is the large magazine Quad creates, plus the steady recovery Conductor's provides. EN06 takes a while to bring down, and frequent reloads interrupt your VATS and crit loop; a 200-round magazine mostly removes that problem.

Q: Is Conductor's required in the fourth star?

A: Not strictly. If fast shield-breaking matters more to you, Pin-Pointer's raises limb damage. For most solo players, though, Conductor's gives steadier AP and health recovery, which suits a longer fight.

Q: Does a low-health build suit every player?

A: Low health hits harder, but it asks for good movement and real experience. If you would rather clear it reliably, stay at full health with stealth armor and trade some damage for a bigger margin for error.

The Elder's Mark Quad-and-Conductor's build is, at its core, a sustained-damage setup aimed at EN06. Quad stretches the magazine to 200 rounds, Rapid raises the fire rate, VATS Optimized trims AP cost, and Conductor's refills your resources, so after the shield drops you keep attacking without a reload breaking your rhythm. Pick the right effects, match your armor and perks to how you play, and come in with your crit meter ready—and EN06 turns from a long war of attrition into a fight decided by your build and your damage loop.
