Updated Best Reforge Stones To Use in Black Desert Guide
After you finish crafting a Sovereign Weapon in Black Desert, enhancement is not the only thing that shapes its final stats. Reforge Stones matter just as much. They arrived in September 2024 alongside the Sovereign Weapon, and every Sovereign Weapon carries five Reforge Stone slots. One thing to keep in mind: a Reforge Stone cannot be removed once it is socketed, and the only way to change one is to overwrite it with a new stone.

Five Fixed Reforge Stone Slots
A Sovereign Weapon can hold up to five Reforge Stones, and you cannot use the same effect twice. Once all five slots are filled, the only way to change an effect is to overwrite the socketed stone with a new one. The stone being replaced disappears and cannot be recovered. Reforge Stones drop mainly from world bosses in the Land of the Morning Light, and they can also be bought from the Central Market. Some stones are pricey, and every swap costs extra silver, so you should not swap stones around without a clear goal. Before you socket anything, decide whether the weapon is mainly for PvE grinding, PvP, or a mix of both, then tailor your five slots accordingly.
The 15 Reforge Stone Types
There are 15 Reforge Stones in the game, and they fall into three groups by effect.
Damage Stones
These boost a character's damage output.
All AP +3: increases all attack power, a broad and solid damage stat.
All Accuracy +6: raises all accuracy, useful when hit rate is short or you want steadier output.
Critical Hit Damage +1%: raises critical hit damage, worth more as your attack power climbs.
Critical Hit Rate +5%: raises critical hit rate, for characters who have not hit the crit cap.
Back Attack Damage +2%, Down Attack Damage +2%, Air Attack Damage +2%: each raises the extra damage of that attack type, aimed mainly at PvE grinding.
Defensive Stones
These raise survivability.
All Damage Reduction +5: adds all damage reduction.
All Evasion +10: adds all evasion.
Max HP +200: raises maximum HP.
These stats suit PvP best, where the ability to soak damage and keep fighting carries real value.
Resistance-Ignore and Special-Effect Stones
These matter mostly in PvP, and they help you land your own crowd control rather than defend against it.
Ignore Knockdown/Bound Resistance +5%: your attacks ignore part of the target's knockdown and bound resistance.
Ignore Grapple Resistance +5%: your attacks ignore part of the target's grapple resistance.
Ignore Stun/Stiffness/Freezing Resistance +5%: your attacks ignore part of the target's stun, stiffness, and freezing resistance.
Ignore Knockback/Floating Resistance +5%: your attacks ignore part of the target's knockback and floating resistance.
Black Spirit's Rage Recovery +0.5%: raises Black Spirit's Rage recovery.
Different classes and combat roles want these stats in different amounts, so pick them around how you really play.
Recommended PvE Setup
For monster grinding, focus on damage. Monsters don't grapple, knock down, or apply the crowd-control effects players use, so the resistance-ignore stones do little for you there. The attack-type damage stones, on the other hand, raise your grinding speed directly.
The common priority looks like this:
Back Attack Damage +2%: back-attack damage is a steady damage boost in PvE. In most zones you can keep landing back attacks by positioning, so it pays off well.
Critical Hit Damage +1%: critical hit damage scales with your overall attack power, so it suits characters with strong gear.
All AP +3: a flat boost that needs no special conditions and works in most PvE content.
The last two slots depend on your class, your zone, and your hit rate:
All Accuracy +6: for zones where you are short on hit rate.
Critical Hit Rate +5%: for characters who have not hit the crit cap.
Down Attack Damage +2%, Air Attack Damage +2%: for classes that trigger those attack types often.

Recommended PvP Setup
PvP is different from PvE. You face other adventurers' crowd control, combos, and burst damage, so resistance and defense matter far more. A single crowd-control effect can decide a fight, and raw attack power alone is not always the best answer. In PvP, most builds fall into two directions—damage and survivability. Damage builds suit classes that want quick kills, while survivability builds lean on damage reduction, evasion, HP, and control resistance to stay in the fight longer.
Offense
If your class is built to attack, consider:
All AP +3: raises base attack, works for most classes.
Critical Hit Damage +1%: raises burst damage, for classes that lean on crits.
Ignore Resistance stones: pick the resistance-ignore effect that matches the crowd control your class and matchup rely on.
Defense
If you need to survive longer on the field, consider:
All Damage Reduction +5: raises overall damage reduction.
All Evasion +10: for evasion builds or classes that need more room to live.
Max HP +200: raises maximum HP.
In the current PvP scene, damage reduction is usually the steadier route. Compared with a pure evasion approach, a damage-reduction setup holds up more consistently against different classes.
Recommended Socketing Priority
For PvE grinding, a sensible order is:
- Back Attack Damage +2%
- Critical Hit Damage +1%
- All AP +3
Fill the last two slots with accuracy, crit rate, or another damage stat to match your class and zone
For PvP, pick offense or defense by your class role rather than copying a PvE setup. Shai's Primordial Artina Sol also supports Reforge Stones, and the socketing rules are the same as for Sovereign Weapons.
Using Reforge Stones Wisely
The value of a Reforge Stone is not just the stat on one stone, but the combined effect of all five slots. For PvE players, prioritize damage that lifts your grinding speed steadily. For PvP players, balance attack, defense, and resistance around your class. Because a stone can't be removed and can only be overwritten, a wrong choice costs extra silver. Now that high-value stones are becoming more common, planning your setup ahead of time matters more than adjusting it often. Settle on your main playstyle first, then pick the stat combination to match, and you'll get the most out of those five slots without wasting silver on repeated swaps.
