AION 2 New Wings Full Content Revealed

Aug 3, 2026
Share: WhatsAppReddit

Wings are the defining identity marker of AION 2. Unlike the original game, wings are no longer a default piece of equipment granted at character creation. They must be earned through gameplay. Through multiple public events in 2026, NCsoft has progressively unveiled the wing acquisition methods, collection rewards, enhancement mechanics, and seasonal additions. At every layer of design, one principle holds: the strongest wings are always those earned in-game. The global PC release is set for September 2026. Below is a complete roundup of everything currently known about the wings.

AION 2 New Wings Full Content Revealed

How to Obtain Wings

Wing acquisition in AION 2 is not confined to a single path. Five methods cover the full spectrum from casual to hardcore players:

Story Quests: Complete specific main or side quest chains to unlock exclusive wings. This is the most basic acquisition method.

Boss Drops: World bosses and dungeon bosses have a chance to drop rare wings. Some wings have only been recorded dropping on the highest difficulty.

Mini-Game Rewards: Participate in built-in mini-games and limited-time events to earn event-exclusive wings. Missed event wings currently have no rerun availability.

World Collection: Feathers scattered across the map permanently boost flight ability when collected. Reaching certain collection milestones unlocks corresponding milestone wings.

Cosmetic Shop: Paid wings provide visual changes only, with no stat bonuses, and cannot be enhanced.

Collect More, Fly Faster

AION 2 has designed a hidden cumulative reward into the wing system: every new pair of wings acquired permanently increases the character's base movement speed. This means that even after finding a favorite look, continuing to collect other wings still yields tangible benefits. The open-world map is thirty-six times larger than the original game, and the cumulative movement speed gains become noticeably significant during mid-to-late-game traversal across the map.

 Fledgling Arch Daeva Wings

New Wings Added in 2026

Season 2 (January 2026 update) introduced a batch of previously unobtainable wings through the new Expedition dungeon "Dying Dramata's Nest." The Daeva Pass simultaneously added season-themed limited wings and pet bundles. There are currently dozens of known wing styles, rendered in Unreal Engine 5 and spanning an extremely wide stylistic range from massive white-feathered angelic designs to small, whimsical shapes. Both IGN and TheGamer preview reports have noted that the feather dynamics and translucent material rendering on the wings, with their shifting light effects at different flight angles, are the most refined currently seen in any MMORPG.

What Enhancement Does

The May 26, 2026 developer livestream revealed that enhancement boosts both flight time and additional combat stats. The material requirements are as follows:

Mysterious Feathers: Converted from Expedition Wing Feathers, these are the primary enhancement consumption material.

Unique Tuning Stones: Acquired through relatively narrow channels, primarily from high-difficulty dungeons and seasonal rewards.

Kinah: Each enhancement attempt consumes a fixed amount of Kinah, increasing with each enhancement level.

Rare and Legendary-grade wings have a 100% success rate up to +10 enhancement. Unique-grade wings experience success rate decay at higher enhancement levels, which can be mitigated by investing additional materials to boost the success rate.

The Difference Between Paid Wings and In-Game Wings

Cosmetic wings purchased from the shop cannot be enhanced and carry no stats. Ranking reward wings and battle pass wings are also non-enhanceable. Only wings obtained through in-game achievements — quests, boss drops, and world collection — can enter the enhancement system. This design ensures that the strongest wings always come from in-game effort, and paying players cannot gain a stat advantage simply by purchasing from the shop.

AION 2's wings are no longer just a cosmetic item. They simultaneously serve three functions — identity marker, movement speed accumulation, and combat stat enhancement — and all three are tied exclusively to wings earned through gameplay. For players entering the global server in September, planning a wing collection route early — prioritizing story quests for base wings, keeping an eye on boss spawn cycles for rare drops, and not missing feather pickups during map exploration — will place movement efficiency and combat stat accumulation further ahead in the mid-to-late game.
