How to Boost Bangboo Combat Power in ZZZ?

I've been playing Zenless Zone Zero for the better part of a year now, and the thing friends ask me about most isn't agent team comps — it's whether Bangboo are actually worth anything. Honestly, when I first started, I thought they were just cute decorations that followed you around. Then one run in Hollow Zero, my whole squad wiped except for a Bangboo with a sliver of HP left, and the little guy somehow soloed the last chunk of the boss's health bar. That was the moment I started taking Bangboo seriously. The Bangboo progression system is way simpler than what agents deal with, but it hides a few critical things most people gloss over. Here's what I've learned the hard way.

Bangboo level and dupe count are the foundation everything else sits on

Bangboo don't have the whole Drive Disc and W-Engine baggage that agents do — their progression line looks dead simple on paper. But that simplicity is exactly why people skip over key breakpoints without realizing it. Level and dupe bonuses multiply into each other, and every step you skip early on gets magnified into a much bigger gap later.

Skill upgrade priority matters more than you think, and getting the order wrong costs you

The Bangboo skill upgrade screen looks like a handful of slots you can just tap through, but the material cost curve gets brutal fast. Taking one skill from level 8 to 10 eats enough resources to bring another Bangboo from zero to maxed. So your priority order directly determines how efficient your whole build path is.

Bangboo team synergy is where the real gap opens up

A Bangboo with a pretty stat sheet and a Bangboo that actually performs in combat are two different things. Slot one into a mismatched team and you might as well not have it equipped — but drop it into the right elemental lineup and it pulls weight that rivals a support agent.

Bangboo are hands down the most underestimated piece of combat power in ZZZ. Level them whenever, upgrade random skills, throw them into any team — that's what most people do. Flip it around and think about it: if you just take these things a little more seriously, the combat gains you get out of a Bangboo come faster and hit harder than fine-tuning a full Drive Disc set ever will. Don't stress about it and don't grind yourself into burnout either — Bangboo progression runs on its own separate resource economy from agents. Just poke at it a little each day. Slow and steady gets the timing right way more often than rushing does.
