POE2 Whirlwind Huntress Leveling Guide
League-starting the Whirlwind Huntress this season is a treat. While everyone else is getting chased by white mobs in Act 1, this build is already clearing whole screens at a time. I was confused my first run too: the guides said Whirling Slash plus Twister, but mashing them randomly did no damage, until I got the core of it down to one word: stacks. Cap the stacks before you cast Twister and the damage is night and day. Here's the Whirlwind Huntress leveling rhythm, skills, gear, and ascendancy, in the order I worked it out.

The whole build in one line: cap Whirling Slash, then cast Twister.
Almost all the damage lives in Twister, and how hard Twister hits depends on how many Whirling Slash stacks you built before casting it.
- Land Whirling Slash three times to cap the whirlwind stacks.
- With stacks capped, one Twister sends out projectiles that pierce and bounce off walls, clearing a whole screen, and that one cast is your main damage.
- Keep Whirling Slash at level 1; it's a stack-builder, and leveling it up just burns mana.
- For bosses don't stand in the open, hug a wall so Twister bounces back for extra hits; the damage climbs hard.
Drill this loop into muscle memory and the campaign is basically a straight push.
Split your skills: one setup for clear, one for bosses.
The whirlwind clear is ridiculous, but single-target is weaker, so leave room in your bar for a boss setup instead of running one setup the whole way.
- Ice-Tipped Arrows with Barrage converts Twister fully to cold and drops exploding ice crystals, faster clear and more freezing.
- Spear Throw plus Frost Bomb, one for single-target, one to shred resistance.
- Run Herald of Ice and Wind Dancer, one helps clear and the other keeps you alive, the best value for leveling.
For movement, Disengage plus Pounce gets you across the map fast and throws off boss rhythm at the same time.
Gear priority: weapon first, then boots.
The whirlwind build is weapon-hungry, and its gear priority order is a bit different from other builds; the weapon always comes first.
- The spear always comes first.
- It wants added flat damage, attack speed, and crit, and it eats both physical and lightning flat damage. Gloves and rings add more flat damage too, and everything else stacks life, resistances, and evasion.
- Get movement-speed boots early, and upgrade your weapon base around levels 16, 33, and 59.
Check vendors often while leveling, upgrading your weapon base on a schedule beats grinding for one rare.

Ascendancy order and why your stats shouldn't be lopsided.
Ascendancy-wise go Amazon and don't shuffle the order: take Predatory Instinct first for bonus damage against rares and uniques, then Critical Strike for the crit, and finish with Penetrate, which only works if your weapon has accuracy, so don't take it blindly. On attributes, the Huntress wants strength, dexterity, and intelligence balanced, roughly 68 strength, 157 dexterity, 122 intelligence, so don't dump everything into one stat or your skills stop casting smoothly. Patch 0.5 also has Spirit Walker as an option; dodging rolls trigger owl feathers for extra projectiles and projectile speed, which is a big boost for the whirlwind build, so try it if you want variety, but Amazon is the safest for leveling.
The Whirlwind Huntress is genuinely comfortable to league-start this season; the core is just that Whirling Slash into Twister clear loop, and once you have it down it's a straight push from Act 1. Split your skills for clear and boss, put your gear into the weapon and movement boots first, take the Amazon ascendancy in order, and keep your attributes balanced so you basically never brick a map. Don't get dragged away by late-game guides chasing max output; leveling is about being steady, fast, and never breaking your rhythm. The moment your Twister starts spinning, you'll see why so many people league-start the Huntress this season.
