You can almost trade everything in POE 2. Whether it's the equipment you pick up from the ground, the POE 2 currency you use to craft it, or the rewards for killing bosses, there are many opportunities to buy what you need or sell what you don't. 

However, a notable exception is gold coins, which are used to purchase items from suppliers, list currencies on the exchange, and reset your passive skill points. You can obtain gold coins by killing monsters, but you cannot trade gold coins with other players! 

Little is known about the trading in Path of Exile 2 and the content that will be available during the early access period. Much of the content in this article is speculation based on how trading worked in Path of Exile 1. 

Currency exchange is an asynchronous trading system where you can list various currencies. If it works like Path of Exile 1, you can list any stackable items. This may include: 

Basic currencies, such as Chaos Orbs and Exalted Orbs. 

Runes and Soul Cores 

Rewards for the map mechanism in the other world, such as essence. 

The currency used for crafting in endgame activities such as omens and catalysts. 

Unprocessed road stones and flagstones 

You cannot list equipment or items that cannot be stacked, such as: 

Legendary items 

· Road stones and flagstones that have been processed by craftsmanship 

Rare items crafted by hand 

·Jewelry 

The currency trading mechanism in Path of Exile 1

First, you need to select the currency you want and the currency you have. In this case, the currency you want is displayed on the left, while the currency you are selling is displayed on the right. 

The currency exchange market supports all stackable currency items. As Jonathan mentioned before, the Path of Exile 2 exchange should support all these as well as regular items. You can use the search box at the bottom to find currencies more quickly, or use the tabs on the left for quick navigation. 

After choosing two currencies, you need to set the ratio. For your convenience, we display the common market ratios. After setting the ratio, you can place an order and pay the gold coin fee. The number of gold coins required is proportional to the quantity of the currency items being traded. 

Once a purchase request with the same currency and the correct ratio appears, your order will be executed. If there is no compatible pending order, you may need to wait for a moment to complete your order. 

Almost everything in Path of Exile 2 can be traded with other players. This includes items listed on the currency exchange market. If you want to trade unique items and other equipment, you need to use the direct player-to-player trading system in Path of Exile 2. You need to invite someone to join your party, then go to their hideout (or wait for them to come to your hideout) to trade directly with them. Open the trading window, then select the items you want to sell. Then, carefully check the contents to ensure you get what you want, and click Accept. 

Now, Path of Exile 2 differs from many other games in that there is no universal trading POE 2 currency. Remember, gold is not tradable, so you won't sell things for gold. Instead, Path of Exile 2 uses a barter system where players agree to use different consumables as currency. In Path of Exile 1, players typically used Chaos Orbs for smaller transactions and Exalted Orbs for larger ones. We don't know what currency players will use in Path of Exile 2, but Chaos Orbs and Exalted Orbs are definitely possible! 

If you want to list items for sale, you can place them in the public warehouse page and set the price. After you switch regions, the item should be visible to all players through the trading website. While you are doing the cross-dimensional map, you can wait for buyers to send you private messages.

But how do you know what others have for sale? If it's like Path of Exile 1, you can do this through the official Path of Exile Trade website maintained by Grinding Gear Games. The trading filter offers multiple options to filter the item list, helping you improve your equipment. You can search by base type, base affixes, and affixes, etc.! After that, copy the trading message to automatically contact the seller and start the purchasing process.
