How Much Does Each Skill Level Increase in Legend of Ymir?
Skill upgrading is an unavoidable part of progression in Legend of Ymir. Active skills, passive skills, potential skills, and awakening skills all consume enhancement tomes. Before clicking that upgrade button, one question needs a clear answer: how much does each level actually increase? Different skill types follow different scaling curves, and their enhancement costs scale differently as well. Here is how the four categories break down.

How Much Each Level Increases for Active Skills
Active skill level gains are the most visible, directly affecting the damage numbers on the skill panel.
- Levels one through five offer the best return on investment. Low-tier enhancement tomes are cheap, and each level provides a noticeable damage increase.
- From level five to seven, gains begin to narrow while material costs multiply. Pushing one more level at this stage can cost more than the first five levels combined.
- Beyond level seven, enhancement tomes require rare materials. The per-level cost is steep. Chasing high levels is not recommended for non-core skills.
- Long-press the skill icon before upgrading to preview the exact numerical change for the next level. Check before you commit.
Spread active skills wide at low levels and concentrate resources on core skills at high levels. This is the most material-efficient approach.
How Much Each Level Increases for Passive Skills
Passive skills grant a fixed stat value per level. Once learned, they take effect permanently regardless of equipment slots or combat context.
- Common passive skills grant a fixed attribute increase per level. Iron Vitality raises max HP. Mana Control reduces skill cost. Potion Utilization boosts potion effectiveness.
- Class-specific passive skills increase the corresponding class attribute per level. They share the same material pool as common passives, so prioritization is necessary.
- Passive enhancement tomes are crafted from Mastering Scrolls of the Spirit. Materials are limited. Bring all passives to around level five first, then concentrate on core passives.
The per-level number on passives is less flashy than active skill damage, but it is always active in every scenario. Passives have the highest priority among the four categories.

How Much Each Level Increases for Potential Skills
The potential system unlocks when your character reaches level 35. It consumes growth energy and silver to upgrade, and the per-level gain is the smallest of the four categories.
- A single level gives only a tiny stat increase, but it can be stacked beyond level twenty. The cumulative total equals a full equipment modifier.
- Resetting refunds all materials and silver in full. There is zero penalty for misallocation, giving it the most flexibility.
- Three paths exist. Skadi provides universal defense for monster farming. Freya and Baldur provide PvP defense for player combat.
The per-level gain from potential skills is the smallest in isolation, but the ability to reset at any time gives it the highest margin for error.
How Much Each Level Increases for Awakening Skills
Awakening skills unlock at level 60 after completing the awakening quest chain. The per-level gain is higher than normal skills, but the cost is double.
- Awakening passive skills grant a permanent panel stat increase per level. The per-level value is higher than a normal passive, but the cost is doubled.
- Awakening active skills have higher base multipliers to begin with. The absolute damage gain per level is larger than that of a normal active skill.
- Prioritize awakening passives to level three for the baseline benefit, then invest in awakening actives. Leave max level for the late game.
Awakening skills offer large per-level gains at a high cost. Take the early level benefits first and fill out the rest later.
There is no single fixed number for how much each skill level increases in Legend of Ymir. Active skills scale by multiplier. Passive skills accumulate fixed values. Potential skills stack in tiny increments. Awakening skills deliver high returns at high cost. Four systems, four different curves. One rule applies across all of them: the gain curve starts high and flattens out. The early levels are always the most valuable. For exact numbers, long-press any skill icon in-game to see the current and next level values. The enhancement preview window shows the specific change before you commit.
