How to Get and Exchange Ekleta Accessories in Black Desert

Following the Edania Part II update, Black Desert added two top-tier accessories of the same grade: Ekleta and Apeiron. Their final stats sit at the same level, but how you obtain them is clearly different. Apeiron comes mainly from the new hunting zones and can be registered on the marketplace, while Ekleta does not rely on monster drops. Instead, it is obtained by trading in a high-stage Kharazad accessory, which can be converted into an Ekleta of the matching stage. This guide covers the exchange requirements, the quest flow, the NPC location, and the enhancement materials that follow, so you can complete the accessory conversion quickly.

The Ekleta Exchange Starts With Kharazad

At the core of obtaining Ekleta is exchanging a high-stage Kharazad accessory. You hand a qualifying Kharazad accessory to the NPC Chlorins and receive the matching-stage Ekleta in return. The exchange rates are straightforward:

NOV (IX) Kharazad exchanges for a base-stage Ekleta.

DEC (X) Kharazad exchanges for a TET (IV) Ekleta.

This means the enhancement resources you previously invested in Kharazad do not lose their value—they become the foundation of your Ekleta build. Before committing to the exchange, however, it is worth clarifying how Ekleta and Apeiron differ in tradeability:

Ekleta cannot be registered on the marketplace, which suits players planning to develop their current character over the long term. Apeiron can circulate on the marketplace, which appeals more to players who value gear liquidity and resale value. If you already hold a high-stage Kharazad accessory and your main goal is to raise your current character's gear, converting Kharazad into Ekleta saves you the cost of building from scratch. If tradeability matters more, prioritize the Apeiron route instead.

The Quest Flow and NPC Location

The Ekleta exchange runs through a Black Spirit quest chain; it is not a direct trade in an NPC's dialogue menu. Start by accepting "[Ekleta Accessory] Chlorins' Experiment" from the Black Spirit. Before completing the quest, make sure your character has at least one qualifying Kharazad accessory equipped—a NOV (IX) or DEC (X) Kharazad. If the quest does not show up in the Black Spirit's list, open the quest window (O), check that all quest types are enabled, and look again. After finishing the prerequisite, travel to Angavu Outpost in Edania, find Chlorins, and complete the actual exchange as the quest directs.

Notes on the Quest:

Family restriction: The prerequisite quest only needs to be completed once per Family.

Repeat exchanges: After the prerequisite, the exchange quest can be repeated with no fixed limit on the number of completions.

Family engraving: An Ekleta obtained this way is engraved with the Family name of the adventurer who completed the quest.

So if you plan to exchange Ekleta accessories for several different slots, you can keep following the same flow after finishing the prerequisite once.

What to Confirm Before Handing Over the Accessory

Before you hand the Kharazad accessory to Chlorins, check the accessory's current state and the quest state to avoid losing anything to a careless click. A Cup already mounted on the Kharazad does not need to be removed—you can exchange the accessory as-is. This saves you the extra dismantling step, and you do not need to strip an installed Cup ahead of the exchange. A base Ekleta can still be exchanged back. As long as it has not been enhanced to PRI or higher, you can return it to Chlorins for a NOV (IX) Kharazad.

If you find after the exchange that the current direction no longer fits, you can reverse it as long as the conditions hold. One point in the quest flow needs extra care: do not abandon the exchange quest after submitting the Kharazad. If you hand over the accessory and then abandon the quest, the item is not automatically returned in its original state. So before confirming the exchange, check the accessory slot, the enhancement stage, and the quest details, and only submit once everything is correct.

Enhancement Materials and How to Make Them

Ekleta enhancement follows rules closely tied to Kharazad accessories. When an enhancement attempt fails, the accessory is not destroyed, but its max durability drops by 20 and its stage can fall. Using Cron Stones lowers the risk of a stage drop. Enhancing Ekleta requires the Causality Shardstone that matches the accessory slot, with a different material type per slot:

Necklace: The Causality Shardstone for the necklace slot.

Earring: The Causality Shardstone for the earring slot.

Ring: The Causality Shardstone for the ring slot.

Belt: The Causality Shardstone for the belt slot.

Causality Shardstones are made through the Heating function in the Processing window (L). For the crafting material, choose one of the following four:

Twilight of the End accessory ×5, for the necklace, earring, ring, or belt slot.

Caphras Stone ×10.

Magical Shard ×10.

Essence of Dawn ×10.

If you want to make more shardstones in one go, scale up the material count for batch crafting and add Black Stone Powder to the Heating recipe. With the materials prepared at the matching ratio, you receive ten shardstones at once, which makes material processing more efficient.

Which players are suitable for Ekleta?

The main value of Ekleta lies in turning a Kharazad accessory you have already built to a high stage into the starting point of a higher gear tier. It therefore suits players who already own a mature Kharazad accessory, rather than new characters with no gear foundation.

You are a good fit for the exchange when:

You already hold a NOV (IX) or DEC (X) Kharazad accessory.

Your current goal is to raise your character's gear strength further.

Marketplace trading is not a main requirement for you.

You want to lean on an existing high-stage accessory to reduce later progression pressure.

If you have not yet completed a high-stage Kharazad accessory, there is no need to change your current progression plan just for Ekleta. Finish your Kharazad build gradually according to your gear progress and material reserves, then enter the Ekleta exchange route.

Ekleta is obtained differently from traditional hunt-and-drop gear—it emphasizes carrying over and converting gear you already own. First prepare a qualifying NOV (IX) or DEC (X) Kharazad accessory, then accept "[Ekleta Accessory] Chlorins' Experiment" from the Black Spirit, travel to Angavu Outpost in Edania, and find Chlorins to complete the exchange. Through the whole process, pay close attention to the Kharazad stage, whether the Cup needs handling, the trade-back conditions, and the rule about abandoning the quest. After the exchange, prepare the Causality Shardstone for the matching slot and make the enhancement material through Processing and Heating.
