Lineage Classic Best Class Guide

Share: WhatsAppReddit

Lineage Classic only gives you four classes to choose from, which sounds simple until you realize you cannot reset your stats and the game lets you make just one character per account. That makes the class pick one of the few decisions that actually sticks. Here is how the four classes compare, which one fits each kind of player, and what to know before you commit.

The Four Classes

Lineage Classic keeps the original four classes, and each one plays a very different role.

That is the whole roster. No hybrids, no subclasses, just four roles that cover the basics of tanking, ranged damage, magic, and leading a guild.

Best Class for New Players

If you are starting fresh and do not want to fight the game itself, play an Elf.

The Elf archer is the most forgiving class in Lineage Classic. Ranged damage means you take fewer hits, potion use stays low, and early hunting is fast without much gear. The standard build is Dexterity 18 with a little Constitution, and it works from level one to endgame without any real dead spot. Dexterity is what feeds the Elf. It boosts bow damage and Evasion Rate, and higher Dexterity also means your defense improves faster as you level.

The reason experienced players push Elf for new accounts is simple. It makes money while it levels, it rarely dies, and it does not depend on expensive skill books the way a Wizard does. For a first character on a fresh account, that is hard to beat.

Best Class for Solo Leveling and PvP

The Knight is the class you pick when you want to stand in melee and not fall over.

There are two real Knight builds, and the choice comes down to what you value. A Strength Knight dumps everything into Strength and levels fast, but runs thin on health when a fight gets close. A Constitution Knight builds a proper tank with deep health, and by the time it is deep in the late game it can sit at several hundred hit points, which wins fights but levels slower.

Since stats are not easily reset, treat this as a permanent choice. If you want the fastest early leveling, go Strength. If you care about late game PvP and survivability, go Constitution and commit. For solo players who want to farm and survive, the Knight is the pick, it just drinks more potions than an Elf, which is the price of being the strongest melee class in the early game.

Best Class for Late Game and Money

The Wizard is the class that starts slow and finishes on top.

Wizards suffer early. Mana runs out, skill books cost gold, and solo leveling is a grind. But once a Wizard comes online, nothing matches its area damage and party value. A geared late game Wizard is the backbone of group hunting and castle sieges, and it can even sell buffs to other players, which is a real income stream the other classes do not have.

That is why the long term advice flips. If you plan to play for months and run in a party, a Wizard pays off. If you want quick money right now, a Dexterity Elf beats it. The two serve different goals, and picking the wrong one for your goal is the most common regret new players have.

What to Know Before You Pick

A few rules make this decision heavier than it looks.

Stats cannot be reset early on, so a bad spread at character creation stays with you for a long time. The one character per account rule means you cannot just start over on the same account if you regret your class. And the Monarch is the odd one out, it only makes sense if you plan to lead a blood pledge, otherwise it is a weak combat class that most people skip as their main.

The short version: new and free players take an Elf, solo melee players take a Knight, long term party players take a Wizard, and only guild leaders bother with a Monarch.
