Which Class Is a Must-Have in Legend of Ymir Siege War?
The siege war is the largest team mode in Legend of Ymir. Multiple groups clash on the same battlefield, and players fall faster than in any dungeon. In that kind of fight, whether a team can hold on depends not on how much damage it puts out, but on whether the fallen can get back up. The answer is the Skald. It is the only class among the current six with a revive skill, and the official description places it as the core of any team: a support that can heal, resurrect, and raise the whole group's defense. Every other slot in a siege can be swapped, but leave this healing slot empty and the whole team loses the one thing keeping it alive.

The Skald Is the Only Class with a Revive
The Berserker, Völva, Warlord, Archer, and Rune Warrior have no revive ability. Only the Skald's Song of Valhalla can pull a fallen ally back up.
- The Song of Valhalla restores allies' health and resurrects them, handling both healing and casualties in a single skill.
- When the front line drops in a siege, the formation cracks. One revive from the Skald brings the player back, and the line does not collapse from losing a single person.
- The official description treats a class with a revive skill as crucial to any team, and among all classes, only the Skald was given that ability.
Revive is the rarest capability in a siege, and that one skill alone locks the Skald into the must-have slot.
The Song of Valhalla Carries the Team's Sustain
A siege is a war of attrition. Health drains fast, and whether a team keeps standing comes down to whether the healing keeps up.
- The Song of Valhalla restores allies continuously, keeping the front line on its feet while it takes fire.
- Potions have long cooldowns and limited stock in team fights, so the Skald's healing is the team's most reliable source of sustain.
- Damage dealers can stand in the back and focus on damage; the Skald tops them up when they get low, so they do not have to retreat repeatedly.
Healing decides how long a team can stay in the fight, and the Skald covers that more reliably than anything else.

The Guardian Poem Adds a Layer of Defense to the Whole Team
The Skald does more than heal. The Guardian Poem raises the whole team's defense, making allies harder to bring down in the melee.
- The Guardian Poem boosts allies' defense, and under focus fire in a siege, that extra layer means surviving one more round.
- The buff covers the whole team, not a single target. Front line and back line both benefit, lifting overall survivability.
- Damage dealers are fragile on their own; with the Guardian Poem up, they can hit harder without running at the first sign of damage.
Healing plus defense gives the team a safety net, and the siege's margin for error goes up a whole level.
How to Play the Skald in a Siege
Stay behind the main force and do not charge with the front line; the team's sustain depends on you staying alive. Save the revive for the front line and the main damage dealers, since losing those two slots breaks the formation. Spread the Guardian Poem before the fight starts so the whole team enters with the defense buff, and in battle, watch health bars and use the Song of Valhalla to rescue whoever is being focus-fired. Stack healing and survivability on gear and runes; if the Skald stays standing, the healing and revives keep flowing, and the team can keep fighting through a long siege.
A siege is ultimately decided by which side runs out of people first. The Skald combines healing, revive, and defense into one kit, which is why the official description calls it the team's core. Of the current six classes, it is the only one that does all of these at once. The Berserker deals damage, the Völva controls space with area damage, the Warlord dives in and pierces through, and the Archer and Rune Warrior fill their own roles. All of them are useful, but none can replace the healing and revive in the Skald's hands. If you plan to fight in a siege, lock in the Skald first. Fill the remaining slots around your roster, and that is the most reliable lineup for the current version.
