AION 2 Global Launch Guide
AION 2 launches globally on October 5. In the opening days, everyone starts from roughly the same place, and how you pace your quests directly shapes how fast you level and how much strength you build early on. Quests are your main way forward during the leveling phase. Yellow main-story quests offer the highest experience and keep unlocking new regions and content, while Duty Quests deliver Abyss Points, enhancement materials, and other growth resources. Balancing the two means you level up and stockpile gear and enhancement resources at the same time.

Yellow Main-Story Quests
Opening the quest log reveals several categories—Episode, Regional, Duty, and Ascension. The yellow main-story quests sit mostly under Episode and are your main source of experience and progress in the early levels. Their experience rewards are concentrated; some quests grant a large share of a level on their own. Episode 6's "Sacred Offering," for example, grants about 12% of a level's worth of EXP. Chaining main-story quests together levels you quickly, so make the main story the spine of your leveling from the start. At level 5, prioritize the Ascension quest "Fledgling Wings"—finishing it turns you into a Daeva and unlocks wings, and clearing that transition early makes traveling and questing much smoother.
Reaching level 10 usually takes about two hours. From there to around level 45 depends on your quest route, how much side content you clear, and your own pace. During the leveling phase, don't linger in one zone just to finish every side quest; stay focused on the main story. When a main-story quest gates you behind a level requirement, fill the gap with green side quests and the locations marked with a "?" on the map. Sealed Dungeons work as a source of bonus experience and Deviation Points too. For side quests, pick the ones that are close by and reward the most experience—there's no need to clear every quest in a region while leveling.
Duty Quests
The main story handles your leveling; Duty Quests turn that level into real combat strength. They sit under the Duty tab in the quest log, and each character can complete five per day. They reset at a set time each day—22:00 in Korea and 21:00 in Taiwan, according to current public information. A single Duty Quest rewards 500 Abyss Points, so five a day adds up to 2,500, or roughly 75,000 a month. For a character working toward PvP gear, Duty Quests are a steady early source of Abyss Points.
Beyond Abyss Points, Duty Quests can also drop Kinah, crafting materials, Enhancement Stones, and dungeon entry tickets. Some reward colored crystals tied to pet training. The one worth watching is Fragment: Ariel's Trace. Process this material through Substance Morph and combine it into a Daevanion Crystal: Ariel, which further boosts your attack and defense against bosses.
Pick High-Value Quests First
Duty Quest rewards are not all equal, so once the daily list refreshes, choose the tasks that fit what your character needs right now. The list can be refreshed with Kinah. If the current tasks don't reward the resources you're after, reroll and go for the ones offering Abyss Points, Enhancement Stones, or Ariel's Trace instead.
Ariel's Trace rewards vary; published figures put a single task at anywhere from 1 to 9 fragments. If you're trying to stock up on that material quickly, favor the tasks with the bigger payouts. Keep in mind that refreshing costs Kinah too, so don't reroll endlessly. Match your tasks to your daily goals, and after finishing all five Duty Quests, put the extra effort toward whatever resource you're shortest on.

Enhancement Stone Order
Once Enhancement Stones start coming in, spend them in the right order. Enhancement from +1 to +10 is a stable stage; +11 to +15 is where it becomes probabilistic. Based on what's been published, a failed enhancement doesn't destroy your gear, and the success rate rises after consecutive failures. During the leveling phase, prioritize your weapon. A stronger weapon raises your damage output directly, which speeds up the main story, Duty Quests, and every other piece of combat content.
So spend your enhancement resources in this order:
- Enhance the weapon to +10 first
- Then enhance other slots based on what your character is wearing
- Once past +11, decide how deep to go based on your material stock
When a piece of gear gets replaced by a higher-level item, you can recycle or extract the old one and recover some enhancement resources, following the game's actual refund rules.
The Opening-Phase Daily Loop
- During the launch window, a fixed daily routine keeps your progress steady:
- On login, check Duty Quests first and use Kinah to adjust the list, favoring the rewards you need
- Complete all five Duty Quests for your daily Abyss Points, enhancement materials, and other rewards
- Keep pushing the yellow Episode main story, prioritizing the quests that unlock new regions and content
- When the main story hits a level requirement, top up your experience with Regional side quests and Sealed Dungeons
- Once Enhancement Stones arrive, feed them into your weapon to +10 first, then the rest of your gear as needed
- Before logging off, check your Duty Quest progress so no daily runs go to waste
In the early days of AION 2's global launch, quests carry most of the weight for leveling and resource gathering. Episode main-story quests keep delivering experience and pushing the game forward, while Duty Quests provide a reliable stream of Abyss Points, Enhancement Stones, Kinah, and Ariel's Trace. The two aren't separate tracks—they run alongside your character's growth. Level through the main story, fall back on side quests and Sealed Dungeons when a level gate appears, clear your five Duty Quests every day, and put the enhancement resources into your weapon first. That keeps your level and your combat strength climbing together with the least wasted effort.
