The Arcana enhancement interface is not complicated to operate—select a card, add materials, confirm, and it is done. But what really decides how efficiently you spend your resources is the order in which you enhance and the strategy behind your card choices. Many players burn Mysterious Crystals on temporary cards in the early game, then find themselves short on materials right when it is time to upgrade the cards that matter. Arcana is a major factor in your character's combat performance in Aion 2, so it rewards planning your resource investment and avoiding needless spending.

Card enhancement is not simply a matter of raising levels—it is a combined improvement across skill levels, set effects, and main deity attributes. Different stages call for different card attributes. The early game favors the direct gains from skill levels, while the mid and late game lean on your gold card setup to lift overall performance. So before you enhance anything, be clear about which cards deserve long-term investment, and only then decide how to allocate Mysterious Crystals and other resources.

Know a Card's Value Before Enhancing

Arcana cards carry several layers of attribute value, and not every increase returns the same result. A well-arranged set is chosen for what your character needs right now, not for the sake of a higher card level.

Skill levels drive core improvement

Skill level is the most direct enhancement gain in the early game. Some core skills need to reach level 16 or even 20 before their full effect shows, so prioritizing the cards tied to your main skills visibly improves combat performance. Compared to temporary attribute boosts, skill levels have a clearer impact on output and combat efficiency.

Set effects suit staged growth

Arcana set effects carry high value while your item score is still low. The Vitality set provides attack-related bonuses, and the Magic set improves resource recovery—both give a solid assist in the 2,100 to 2,500 item score range. As your gear improves, however, set effects lose importance, and you should adjust your setup to match.

Main deity attributes deliver long-term gains

Certain main deity attributes carry through the entire growth cycle. The Grail's "Time Siel," for example, raises combat speed, affecting both attack speed and cast speed, and holds strong value across every role. Attributes like this are long-term gains and deserve earlier priority. Before enhancing, settle on your core card combination. If your card selection is still unsettled, dumping resources in too early only invites waste. A sensible card plan matters more than leveling any single card as high as it can go.

Mysterious Crystals Set the Pace of Enhancement

Both enhancing and refining Arcana consume Mysterious Crystals, so your crystal reserve directly decides the overall pace of card growth and how far enhancement can push. Mysterious Crystals are not just a basic material—they are the core resource that runs through the early, mid, and late game. How efficiently you earn and spend them shapes the stability and ceiling of your combat power.

Extracting cards is the main source. Players earn Mysterious Crystals by extracting junk and duplicate cards. The charge rate scales with card grade:

• Normal cards provide 2% charge
• Green cards provide 4% charge
• Blue cards provide 8% charge
• Unique cards provide 20% charge

One point worth remembering: cards that have already been leveled can still be extracted. The invested experience is not lost—it converts into crystal progress. So for cards you no longer need, there is no reason to keep holding them just because they were leveled.

Season Shop and mission rewards

The Season Shop typically offers a fixed number of Mysterious Crystal exchange opportunities, with a purchase limit per account per season—redeem these first. Beyond that, the Tower of Trials achievements under season missions also award crystals, increasing with your score tier. Some higher-tier rewards require harder challenges: the 6,000-point tier, for example, requires clearing Extreme difficulty and carries an entry condition. Set your challenge goals according to your current combat ability.

Daily accumulation beats one-time spending

Mysterious Crystals are not meant to be spent all at once. A steadier method is to farm dungeons daily for duplicate cards, then convert them through extraction. In the mid game, Deus Research Base is a source of junk cards; once your combat power reaches around 1,650 to 1,800, consider moving to Vakron's Sky Island for better efficiency.

Choose the Grail First for Gold Cards

For the first gold card, the Grail is usually the recommended target. Compared to other gold cards, the Grail still demands a high-tier challenge, but its unlock condition is clearer and does not lean too heavily on extreme luck or rare-drop randomness, so it is more reachable for most players. The Grail's core bonus is also broadly useful—whether you play a damage, support, or defense-oriented role, you get a steady return from it, and it does not get outclassed across the early-to-late transition.

First gold card: the Grail. The Grail has the highest acquisition requirement—Transcendence dungeon stage ten—while several other cards drop at stage nine. Its "Time Siel" attribute raises combat speed and suits DPS, tank, and support roles alike. Whatever your role, taking the Grail as your first gold card keeps its value alive for a long time.

Second gold card: the Compass is worth considering. Its main deity attribute "Death Triniel" improves crit-related ability, delivering a visible damage gain for DPS roles. The Parchment, by contrast, leans defensive and survival-oriented, so its early-game effect on output is not as strong as the Compass.

Some cards are not worth early investment

The Bell and Mirror have value, but their early return is unremarkable. Since their random attributes lean toward support effects, it is not worth pouring large amounts of Mysterious Crystals into them while resources are tight.

Enhance Sensibly to Avoid Waste

When enhancing Arcana cards, the goal is not to enhance the moment you have the materials, but to judge whether a card is worth long-term investment.

Do not over-enhance before a complete gold card setup

Before gathering your main gold cards, avoid concentrating heavy resources on a single card. Core cards like the Grail, Parchment, and Compass can be lightly enhanced to raise skill levels, but deep cultivation should wait. Raising skill levels and long-term enhancement are distinct things—the first meets your current combat needs, the second demands large resources. Decide how much to invest based on a card's future usefulness.

Skill levels need a sensible combination

To reach skill level 20, combine different sources: Devanion skills and Arcana skills each add 4 levels, bringing your skill to 18, then rings add the final 2 to reach 20. Raising skill levels across multiple gear and card sources is more reasonable than letting a single card carry the entire burden.

Avoid low-value enhancement

Low-grade cards are usually synthesis material, so do not invest upgrade resources in them. Even high-grade cards should prioritize core attributes—spreading resources evenly tends to reduce overall efficiency. Also, install cards as soon as a slot is unlocked. An empty slot grants no attributes; if your character's stats seem unchanged, check that your slots are properly configured.

Arcana enhancement calls for a sensible balance of card selection, resource accumulation, and enhancement order. Settle on your long-term core cards first, accumulate Mysterious Crystals gradually, and concentrate enhancement on the attributes that matter most—only then does each enhancement fully pay off. Aion 2's cards take time to build, and planning your resources well reduces repeated investment, letting your character gain steady improvement at each stage. Once the enhancement direction is clear, even limited resources can gradually round out your Arcana setup and raise your overall combat ability.
