The Nightmare Dungeon in the new season of Diablo 4 has been revamped and the changes are permanent. Therefore, it's necessary for everyone to understand how to play it.
The Nightmare Dungeon can be accessed by using a Sigil. Once activated, simply click on the corresponding dungeon icon to be teleported directly to the dungeon without the need to run around the map. After completing the dungeon, using the Sigil again will teleport you directly to the next dungeon, which is very convenient.
Sigils can be crafted by the Alchemist, and the crafting materials can be obtained from the Hellish Hordes chests and the Secret of the Ancients chests.
At the beginning of the new season, after successfully and quickly completing the Hellish Hordes and Secret of the Ancients, you can choose to use Diablo 4 gold to change some of your early builds or to make yourself stronger.
Each Sigil has two properties. The first one is beneficial to the player, while the second one strengthens the monsters. Currently, the most useful property seems to be the Dusty Wisdom. When fighting in this dungeon, experience orbs will drop, and clicking on the experience well inside will grant a 15% experience buff for an hour, which is quite useful for early leveling.
Another useful property is the Horadric Vault. Once inside the dungeon, a pillar will spawn. Clicking on it and defeating several waves of monsters will open a golden portal. Entering the portal will lead you to the Horadric Vault.
When choosing the trial, it doesn't matter which one you pick as it doesn't affect the final reward. I usually choose the one that grants +Swift Particles to run faster.
After entering, click on the pillar to start fighting. A progress bar will appear in the upper right corner. Once it's full or the time runs out, a boss will appear. Defeating the boss will grant you the final chest reward, which contains a large amount of Oberon's Orbs (for crafting).
Almost forgot, there's also a fun property called Treasure Gap. This is very rare. Dungeons with this property will spawn many goblins, making the fight very enjoyable.
Besides the regular Sigils, there's also an orange Sigil called Upgrade Nightmare. This Sigil can only be obtained by completing the Horadric Vault and cannot be crafted. After completing this dungeon, you can continue to the next one, up to a maximum of 4 floors. The final floor is where you fight the ultimate boss, Astalos.
This boss is quite challenging in the early game. It has two phases. After the first phase, it will jump off the wolf and the wolf will slowly resurrect. You need to kill it before the wolf does.
The rewards include a large amount of equipment and materials.
The properties of the Upgrade Nightmare Sigil are random from the second floor onwards, but it's best to choose the ones that grant Oberon's Orbs as you need a lot of these for crafting equipment in the later game.
That's basically all about the Nightmare Dungeon. Do you think the new one is better or the old one?
I think the new dungeon is quite good to farm. I just hope the properties of the dungeons can be more diverse, such as some dungeons being full of chests or some granting extremely fast movement speed, etc.
If you have enough materials and Diablo 4 gold, you should improve your equipment as soon as possible.
