In POE2, an item can have up to three prefix and three suffix attributes. And items can be chipped with stones to add attributes, so what innate attributes an item has is very crucial.
In POE2 trade, an item can have up to three prefix and three suffix attributes. And the items can be chipped with stones to add attributes, so having good innate attributes is very crucial.
So we need to know which affixes are valuable on different parts.
Let's talk about weapons first. Currently, there are more players using electricity, so weapons with electricity skills are in high demand. Take staves as an example. Since a fully skilled staff can add +5, be cautious when encountering a +5 electricity skill. By the same token, players of other elements can also refer to this. Whether it's ice or fire, as long as the skill is +5, pay attention to it. Of course, this is a weapon that leans towards the magic school. The additional attributes are recommended to be extra damage, casting speed, spell critical hit, and percentage damage increase. These are all very useful secondary attributes.
Then what about illegal combat items? Such as hammers, sticks, crossbows and the like. These items do not depend on skill levels but on maximum damage; the higher the damage, the better. The secondary attributes that come with them mainly include hit rate and attack speed. Of course, for crossbows and sticks, skill levels can also be considered as secondary attributes.
Some friends might ask at this point, "What about the bow?" The main attribute of a bow is to have a natural +2 extra arrows. With such a foundation, it should also have high damage, such as weapon physical damage and weapon additional physical damage. Then, the next important attributes are attack speed, critical hit rate, and hit rate. With these, it's a sure thing. However, there is one point: a pure bow with high maximum damage, if it doesn't have +2 extra arrows but has a very high attack, how high? Over 400, then this is also valuable.
Another rather unconventional weapon is the summoning staff. A +5 summoning staff can summon good items, which are valuable enough to be used as base materials. Any +5 summoning staff can fetch a good price. Of course, another important attribute is the spirit essence. This is extremely precious. If the spirit essence is high, more summoned items can be obtained. Therefore, a +5 summoning staff with high spirit essence is definitely a top-notch item. Generally speaking, a spirit essence of over 50% is considered excellent. Of course, this is the best expectation. If the spirit essence is high but the summoning level is slightly lower, such as 4 or 3, it still has a market. Personally, I think +5 and high spirit essence are almost equally important, but +4 and +3 are slightly less valuable than high spirit essence.
Then there's the off-hand. Some friends hold a staff in their main hand and a summoning scepter in their off-hand. But in reality, the off-hand is mainly divided into three categories: quivers, magical items, and shields. Just choose based on the attributes your playstyle requires. Fill in the gaps as needed. So, in general, the value of the off-hand isn't that high. They're all more or less the same.
Let's talk about what you wear and what you carry on your head. What attributes of armor should you pay attention to? First, let's talk about the head. There are two attributes that are particularly important: skill level and rarity. You also need to have a little bit of knowledge about the playstyle. For example, for the 1 HP shield playstyle of the Summoner, adding a shield that enhances summoning is the right choice. Other attributes would be less effective. For the Monk and the Ranger, who rely on evasion, a shield is not useful. You should focus on the evasion value. Of course, there are also armor + shield and evasion + shield. These are also only useful for corresponding playstyles and are slightly less valuable. There are also those with high resistances. Some people need to supplement resistances, as each chapter reduces resistance by 10%. So having too low resistance is not a good thing.
Let's talk about the clothes after the headgear. Apart from the legendary clothes that have 100 essence, the yellow clothes made by combining affixes usually have a maximum of 61 essence. Therefore, clothes with over 50 essence generally have trading value. Under the premise of high essence, look at the secondary attributes, such as evasion, armor, shield, and life. These are all quite important. Of course, resistances are also important. If the clothes have essence, resistances, and a shield, then the value is high. Single evasion is relatively less valuable than a shield. If it's evasion plus a shield, it's better. Armor and health are a perfect match. Clothes with high armor and high health are valuable. Clothes with high armor and evasion or shield are a bit less valuable, but those with good attributes are not without value.
When it comes to belts, look for resistance. Those with multiple amulet slots and a combined resistance of over a hundred are good items. In Diablo 2, there were hundred-resistance shoes, and in Path of Exile 2, it's the hundred-resistance belts. Apart from resistance, other attributes are just fluff and have little value. For instance, high health is not very valuable either.
Gloves can be divided into two types: those that increase damage and those that boost resistance. Gloves that add a certain attribute damage to attacks can be considered. However, be cautious of those that add 20-30 physical damage to attacks. Sometimes gloves may have a level for melee skills, but it has little practical significance. For high-value gloves, in addition to increasing damage, resistance should also be considered. Or they should have a skill level along with armor and attack damage. Generally speaking, the value of gloves is not high because there are legendaries that outshine them.
The key point of shoes is to look at the movement speed, with the maximum being 35%. So the closer to 35% movement speed, the more valuable the shoes are. If the movement speed is exactly 35%, even if the other attributes are trash, they still have trading value. Of course, there are also shoes with 100% resistance. If the resistance is high and there are some attributes related to health and defense, then these shoes will be extremely valuable. Of course, some friends think that rarity is related to treasure hunting, similar to MF in Diablo 2. Is it useful? Indeed, rarity is also a good attribute, but only on the premise that the movement speed and other attributes are good. This thing is a multiplier that can make your shoes extremely valuable, but the prerequisite is that the shoes themselves have value. Shoes with 0 value, no matter how high the rarity is, will still be 0.
When it comes to necklaces, there's a lot to look at. The spirit is very important, and not only that, there can also be rarity, as well as resistances, critical hits, and other such affixes. The maximum spirit for a necklace is 50. If it's fully enchanted with spirit, even if the other affixes are trash, it can still be used as a base material. If the spirit is high, and there are also some resistances, health, and shields, it's going to be very powerful. Increased damage is also a good secondary attribute, but overall, it depends on how you combine and match them. For example, if it has a high spirit, a bit of health and resistance, and some casting speed or damage absorption, then such a necklace is very good. Remember, if a necklace has 50 full spirit and also has +3 spell skills, it's top-notch. If the secondary attributes are shields or resistances, don't undervalue it and set too low a price.
Of course, it's not to say that the soul must be at 50. Even if it's 3 or 2 points short, it still has considerable value. If there's no soul but +3 skills, then it depends on the secondary attributes. Resistance and defense-related attributes are still very solid, as well as rarity. Why does rarity also matter? Because the top-tier players of POE2 have basically entered the stage of grinding and farming in the later game, so higher rarity means more chances to drop good items, and naturally, there's a market for it. A single affix of rarity can reach 32%, and a combination of two affixes can be over 50% or even up to 60%. If you get an item with 60% rarity, you don't need to look at anything else; it's directly in the category of top-quality items.
Let's talk about rings. For those that add certain damage when attacking, the physical ones are relatively straightforward and simple. Among the elemental ones, electricity is more popular now, so the value of electricity is relatively higher. There are also secondary attributes such as resistances, life, and rarity, all of which are fine. In POE2, the maximum variation of a single affix is generally around 30. So if a single affix is close to 30, you should pay attention. For example, with rarity, if two affixes combined can reach around 60, it definitely deserves special attention.
As mentioned earlier, a yellow item can have a maximum of three prefixes and three suffixes. So if you come across a yellow item with a single attribute over 40 and only five attributes in total, don't be fooled into thinking you've found a treasure. That's the result of two affixes combined. In fact, it already has six affixes. If you try to apply a high-level gem to it, nothing will happen.
The resistance of the ring is also very important. If the total resistance adds up to over 100, it's generally good. If it's over 50, and the other attributes are all solid ones, then it can also be kept. If the total resistance can reach 150, this ring is a treasure. You can completely save the energy spent on other equipment to increase resistance. Even if there are no other attractive attributes, this ring is still perfect.
Then there are some useless attributes, like lighting and such. For such equipment, you can directly divide or sell it to NPCs without even looking at it. It's not worth using stones to wash them. It's very easy to fail to remove the useless attributes and end up washing away the attributes you are proud of. That's just like when we fail to flash our PSP or NS properly and they become bricked. I ask you, are you not heartbroken?
Of course, it's a good idea to frequently check the market and see what trends are on the POE2 trade official market website, such as what items are starting to increase in price and what items are in abundance but not being bought. If you don't understand, you can use a price-checking assistant like "Mushroom Picking" and just press Ctrl+D to check the value of equipment. It's very convenient.
