On July 2, 2025, the official of Diablo IV released a new season's class balance patch. The most discussed topic among players was that the suppression system was significantly weakened.

Diablo 4 has officially launched the latest seasonal career balance patch, with the most notable change being the significant adjustment to the suppression system. Previously, suppression damage varied depending on a character's health and strength attributes. However, following this update, suppression damage now functions identically to critical strike damage, offering a fixed 50% [x] damage bonus. This modification is expected to enhance overall class balance, as the previous suppression mechanic was perceived as overly dominant and potentially limiting the diversity of viable playstyles. Nevertheless, it also highlights a potential drawback: while suppression has been toned down, other systems have not seen corresponding enhancements, which may result in an overall reduction in class damage output. Whether the new season’s abilities can compensate for this remains to be seen. On a positive note, the health of certain high-difficulty bosses (referred to as "rice monsters") has been slightly reduced.

Regarding specific class adjustments:

- The Spirit Witch's ultimate ability, Hunter, now deals only half the previous damage bonus against injured enemies, and its cruelty level has been reduced. However, the original mechanism allowing enemy kills to reset the ultimate cooldown has been restored.

- Devourer now grants a 50% [x] damage bonus against poisoned enemies.

- During the Seeker's duration, all attacks will result in critical hits.

- Protector provides a 25% [x] damage bonus.

- The thorn-based damage bonus from the new Dark Gold item has been halved, while Razor Wing has received a 75% [x] damage boost (capped at maximum value).

For Barbarians:

- Wrath no longer interrupts movement or channeling skills, benefiting Whirlwind Slash builds.

- However, basic skills can no longer generate Fury during Wrath.

- The passive damage bonus from Heavy Hitter has been reduced from 15% to 10%, effectively weakening Earthquake and Dust Devil builds.

- Additionally, the Earthquake damage bonus from Executioner’s Power has been halved, and the Dust Devil damage provided by the Dark Gold pants, Arriet, has decreased by 50%.

- The Earthquake damage bonus from carved inscriptions has dropped from 35.1% to 30.1%.

- These changes suggest a challenging outlook for these two build types.

- The damage bonus from the Dark Gold item Ugly Bastard has also been reduced by 40%, and its effect is now only active during Berserker’s Wrath.

Druid class updates include:

- Increased damage output for Bear-based attacks, although the previous 75% suppression damage bonus has been replaced with a flat 50% [x] increase in normal damage.

- The new Dark Gold item synergizes well with Bear-based builds, suggesting increased viability in the upcoming season.

- Wolf-, Poison-, and Storm-based skills have also received improvements.

- Notably, Grizzly Fury can now utilize companion skills, whereas previously it was limited to Bear-based abilities.

- Unfortunately, Overloaded Power has been removed and replaced with a direct damage bonus of up to 65% [x], evoking nostalgia for older gameplay mechanics such as Claw-based wolf attacks.

Necromancer updates:

- The key passive skill has received a full buff (in contrast to PTR versions, which were weaker than Season 8).

- Frost Skeleton Mages now have a 10% chance to freeze enemies.

- Puppet mechanics have seen minor improvements.

- The Dark Gold item Bloodless Scream has undergone substantial revisions, replacing the Lucky Strike suffix with a new effect that offers up to a 40% chance to deal 8500–13500 Shadow damage.

- Dark Skill levels have increased from 1–2 to 2–4.

- It remains to be seen whether the new Dark Gold Skeleton Mage will prove effective in combat scenarios.

Additional notes:

- Diablo 4 equipment trading platforms, such as Qiandao, offer real-time price updates for in-game currencies, tickets, and runes, along with market trend analysis for player reference.

- These platforms support OCR recognition and batch uploads of equipment screenshots, enabling quick identification of gear entries and saving time.

- The marketplace allows for precise filtering of item values, making it easier to locate desired equipment.

- Currency trading options are now available, streamlining transactions for both buyers and sellers.

Ranger class adjustments:

- Fast Knife now stores energy instead of reducing consumption, aligning better with the new Dark Gold item that consumes life to boost damage.

- Shadow Clone's damage has been reduced.

- Death Trap's damage has been cut by one-third, but now resets its cooldown upon killing or suppressing an enemy with a 20% base chance. This probability increases by 1% per skill level beyond level 5.

- The Death Trap bonus from Dark Night Gaze has been reduced from 150% to 60%.

- The damage bonus from the Legendary Node "No Witnesses" has been lowered from 60% to 40%.

- This marks a crucial test phase for adventurer players.

Mage class updates:

- Following the release of Multi-headed Snake, the pet will attack independently after casting and temporarily pause before dealing increased damage. It appears that the developers aim to promote this build path.
