Black Desert Margahan's Artifact Crafting Guide

With the second part of Edania now live, Margahan's Artifact is one of the more important new Artifacts added to lifeskill play. It sits on the advanced lifeskill Artifact line and centers on gathering, processing, and similar lifeskill content. Crafting it is not difficult, but the cost is relatively high. A single piece calls for three materials—Margahan's Fragment, Pure Magnetite Crystal, and Pure Marble—and Margahan's Fragment is the one that matters most. Before you start, verify the sources of each material and judge whether the investment matches how deep you are into lifeskill play.

Crafting Recipe

Margahan's Artifact is made through Manufacture in the Processing window. Crafting one piece requires three specific materials, 100 of each.

Margahan's Fragment ×100

Pure Magnetite Crystal ×100

Pure Marble ×100

All three are direct crafting materials, with no other ingredients required. Compared with Pure Marble and Pure Magnetite Crystal, Margahan's Fragment is harder to obtain and drives most of the overall cost.

How to Get Margahan's Fragment

Margahan's Fragment is the core material here, and it has two main sources: gathering in Inner Edania, and exchanging with the material vendor Resh at Angavu Outpost. Gathering Marble or Basalt in Inner Edania has a chance to yield an extra Margahan's Fragment. It is not a guaranteed drop, so your actual haul depends on gathering efficiency and luck. The more reliable route is to visit Resh, the material vendor at Angavu Outpost, and exchange.

The main exchange options are:

Magical Lightstone Crystal ×200 → 1 Margahan's Fragment

Sharp Black Crystal Shard ×20 → 1 Margahan's Fragment

One Margahan's Artifact needs 100 Margahan's Fragments. If you source all of them through Sharp Black Crystal Shards, that means 2,000 Sharp Black Crystal Shards. Margahan's Fragment is no ordinary auxiliary material—its exchange cost feeds directly into what the Artifact costs to make. Before crafting, plan around your existing stock of Sharp Black Crystal Shards, Magical Lightstone Crystals, and similar resources. If you rely mostly on exchanges for Fragments, work out the full resource cost in advance.

Crafting Pure Marble and Pure Magnetite Crystal

Both Pure Marble and Pure Magnetite Crystal come from processing, and unlike Margahan's Fragment, they have clear, fixed processing steps. As long as you have the right ore and processing materials, you can keep producing them.

Pure Marble

The Pure Marble chain is short. Grind Rough Marble into Polished Marble, then heat it with Metal Solvent to get Pure Marble.

The sequence is: Rough Marble → Polished Marble → Pure Marble

Rough Marble is the base material, Polished Marble is the intermediate, and the final heat step yields Pure Marble.

Pure Magnetite Crystal

Pure Magnetite Crystal takes more steps and must be processed in order. Heat Magnetite Ore into Melted Magnetite Shard, heat that into Magnetite Ingot, then heat the Ingot with Metal Solvent to produce Pure Magnetite Crystal.

The sequence is: Magnetite Ore → Melted Magnetite Shard → Magnetite Ingot → Pure Magnetite Crystal

You can gather the ore in Inner Edania while collecting Margahan's Fragments at the same time, cutting down on repeat trips between gathering and processing.

Crafting Cost and Actual Return

The hard part of Margahan's Artifact is not the processing; it is the resources you sink into getting the materials—Margahan's Fragment most of all. If you source Fragments mainly through Sharp Black Crystal Shards, a single piece consumes 2,000 of them.

The current crafting cost is high. By some adventurers' estimates, building out a full multi-piece set can reach hundreds of billions of Silver. That makes it worth judging your crafting priority carefully. If you are mostly into gathering and processing and already have a solid lifeskill gear base, you can plan Margahan's Artifact around long-term returns. If you focus on combat and barely touch lifeskill play, there is little reason to dump Silver and materials into a new Artifact right away.

Is Margahan's Artifact Worth Making?

The recipe is clear: each piece needs 100 Margahan's Fragments, 100 Pure Magnetite Crystals, and 100 Pure Marbles. Pure Marble and Pure Magnetite Crystal can be produced steadily through processing, so Margahan's Fragment is what really drives the cost. If you get Fragments mainly through Sharp Black Crystal Shards, that one item alone runs 2,000 Sharp Black Crystal Shards per piece, and the resource cost climbs fast as you make more. At the same time, the lifeskill stat gains are limited, especially on gathering item drop rate, so weigh the cost against what you get in return.

For most players, it makes more sense to keep current lifeskill gear and put resources toward gear and stats that directly improve gathering and processing. For adventurers committed to lifeskill play with ample resources, crafting gradually toward your own goals is fine—there is no need to finish the whole set at once.

Crafting Margahan's Artifact comes down to material efficiency and total resource cost. Prepare Margahan's Fragment first, and schedule your crafting around your stock of Sharp Black Crystal Shards, Magical Lightstone Crystals, and base ore. Pure Marble and Pure Magnetite Crystal can be built up gradually through gathering and processing in Inner Edania, while Margahan's Fragment needs the most careful planning.
